Principal's Message
We have had an exciting month here at Cedar Lane Elementary, Home of the Wildcats!
From multiple field trips to our 2nd Annual Jog-a-Thon and our Halloween parade, students and staff have been busy building community and getting the 2024-2025 school year off to a running start! Not only are we engaging in exciting grade level and site wide activities, but we are working hard on our literacy instruction, achieving 96%+ attendance, and ensuring that our campus is a safe and welcoming place for all Wildcats.
We're very much looking forward to more exciting events in November like our Scholastic Book Fair and Literacy Night, the end of our 1st trimester and parent-teacher conferences, our first Trimester Wildcat Assembly, and our Girls on the Run 5k race in Chico!

Lunch with the Principal
Does your child want to have lunch with the principal?
Remind your student(s) that they can put their PAWS tickets into the jug in the Library for a chance to win. At the end of the month, Principal Evers will draw names and those students get to have lunch with their peers and our principal. They even get a special treat!
Shady Creek BBQ Fundraiser
The Linda Lions Club graciously sponsored our Shady Creek BBQ fundraiser. Students attending Shady Creek sold tickets for $10 that included a hot dog, chips, drink and a cookie. All the money goes directly to the students to offset the cost of Shady Creek.
Students were able to raise a total of $2,200! THANK YOU Linda Lions Club for helping our students work toward achieving their goal of attending this amazing outdoor educational camp!
2nd Annual Turkey Trot Jog-a-Thon
We held our 2nd Annual Turkey Trog Jog-a-Thon on October 25, 2024! The event was a HUGE success. Not only were students able to run to raise money, but they were able to participate in a soccer goal kick activity, a football toss activity, chalk art, explore a fire truck, and enjoy otter pops! Students raised $2,160 which goes into our ASB account to fund activities and supplies for the school as well as helping to fund field trips.
The classes who won most spirited are Mrs. Andersen's 3rd grade class and Mrs. Murray's 2nd grade class. They earned a class set of cupcakes!
Top earners each earn a FREE turkey! We will have two winners, one for grades TK-3 and one for grades 4-6.

End of Trimester Information
As we approach the end of our 1st trimester, look for information from your students' teacher regarding parent teacher conferences. Report cards will not be sent home unless some sort of conference is held. This could be in person, via phone call, or even email.
We will also be having our 1st Trimester Wildcat Awards Assembly on November 15th! Teachers will be notifying parents of students receiving an award at the assembly. All parents are invited to attend! More information regarding times coming soon.
