Carlock Corner
Jan. 14, 2025
Dear Carlock Community,
I am writing to inform you that I have accepted the position of principal at Kingsley Junior High School. I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to work with all of you and your children. I will greatly miss the students, as they are the reason I chose education as a profession.
The culture at Carlock is a testament to the teamwork among teachers, students, and families. I am confident that the school will continue to grow and flourish. With a few months left in the school year, we still have important work to accomplish, and I look forward to making the most of my remaining time at Carlock Elementary.
Thank you for your unwavering support of our learning community. I am grateful to be an Eagle.
Warm regards,
Kelly Fitzgerald
Schedule
Monday, Jan. 20 - MLK Day (No School); Chuck E. Cheese night - see flyer below
Tuesday, Jan. 21 - Vision and Hearing Screening
Tuesday, Jan. 28 - School wide assembly for students
Just a reminder: Please help your child get to school each day and be on time. We have important things happening in class starting with the very first thing. Often they are things students don’t want to miss. We understand students might be sick and need to stay home. However, if they are healthy, please make every effort to get them to school.
Please remember, you need to call the attendance line if your child will miss a day of school:

Please take a moment to order your student yearbook for the 24-25 SY. Orders are due by Feb. 28, 2025.
PBIS January: Notes
Since we returned, I met with each grade level individually to discuss PBIS expectations as Eagles. I also introduced the concept of inclusivity, explaining to our students that one of our goals is to create a learning environment where every student, regardless of their background, feels valued, respected, and safe.
We set a goal to build community within each classroom through respect, collaboration, and positive interactions.
I encourage you to review the topics of inclusivity and respectful collaboration with your child whenever you have a chance.
Winter Recess
🧣❄️ It's essential that they bundle up in warm layers before heading out! We allow outdoor recess when the temperature reaches 20°F or higher, so let's make sure our little ones stay cozy and comfortable while they enjoy their playtime outside. 🧣❄️
As the cold and flu season approaches, it's a great opportunity to remind your child about the importance of good hygiene. Encourage them to wash their hands frequently, especially after playing or using shared spaces. Additionally, remind them to cover their coughs and sneezes with a tissue to keep themselves and their friends healthy. Together, we can help our kids stay safe and well this season!
