2025-2026 Calendar: Committed to the 4-Day Week
The 2025-2026 school calendar has been approved by the board. Due to changes the state has made for districts using a 4-day week calendar, we’ve made adjustments to our upcoming calendar. The revised calendar includes 150 student days, which is three more than the 2024-25 calendar. Additionally, the calendar includes an extra five minutes per school day compared to the current year. These adjustments allow us to maintain our 4-day school week and meet the state’s new requirements. Click here to view next year’s school calendar.

Counseling Support for Students
February 3-7 was National School Counseling Week, a time to recognize the vital role school counselors play in supporting students' academic and emotional success. Through collaboration with teachers, parents, and administrators, school counselors help create a strong foundation for student growth. Parents are encouraged to reach out to their school counselor if their child needs academic, social, or emotional support. In addition to on-campus counseling services, we also offer access to free community resources including, professional counseling sessions for additional support as needed.
Future-Ready: Life School’s CTE Programs Open Doors for Students
Life School is proud to celebrate the value of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and its role in preparing students for success beyond high school. CTE equips students with practical skills, industry certifications, and real-world experience for college and career paths in fields like Arts & Communications, Business & Finance, Health Science, Information Technology, and STEM. These programs provide hands-on learning experiences that connect education to the workforce.
Students at Life High School Waxahachie and Life High School Oak Cliff can also enroll in Texas State Technical College’s dual credit program, earning certifications in high-demand fields such as Welding, HVAC, Diesel, and Cybersecurity—giving them a competitive edge in the job market.
Recently, students from LHSOC and LHSW in the Sports Medicine Health Science program traveled to Life School’s Central Office to participate in a workshop hosted by the District Talent Team focused on professionalism, resume writing, interviewing, and workplace conduct, helping them prepare for their future careers.
As we celebrate CTE Awareness Month, Life School remains committed to empowering students through high-quality education, industry partnerships, and hands-on training, ensuring they are ready for lifelong success.
