Back to School Night
It is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to our annual Back to School Night on Sept. 19th!
Please see the schedule here.
This will be an important evening for you as parents. We open our doors for you to meet our teachers and learn about our curriculum. Please see the schedule below for the designated times when classroom teachers will have presentations. Related Arts teachers (Library, World Language, Art, Music, Technology, Physical Education & Health) will have a presentation that we encourage Kindergarten families and new families to attend to learn about our Related Arts programs at Robert Hunter. Additional staff will be available for open house visits through the evening.
Back to School Night has been designed to present an overview of the instructional program and is not intended for individual conferences. Parent conferences will be held in November. Back to School Night is an evening for parents, and we ask that you make the necessary child care arrangements. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. We are very much looking forward to seeing you, and we know that you will find Back to School Night enjoyable and informative. Please remember that Sept. 19th is an early dismissal day. School will dismiss at 1:20.
Service Corp
Many 4th graders met together this past week with 4th Grade teacher Ms. Fernandes to learn about the Service Corp leadership program. 4th graders have an opportunity to become Service Corp leaders and act as role models for the school community. Service Corp students will also be leading our daily video morning announcements, so that all Robert Hunter students get to know the 4th grade leaders who they will see throughout our school helping to ensure everyone is safe and following school expectations. Classes will rotate having service corp jobs, but all 4th graders will have an opportunity throughout the school year.
Security Drills
Our children’s safety is our number one priority. We will have a security drill every month to practice response protocols to different scenarios. We will always send a notice after a security drill has occurred, so that you are aware and can have conversations with your children. Please know that our staff have developmentally responsive conversations with students. Also, our school counselors are available should you have any questions about how to talk to your children about safety. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from Sept. 15- Oct.15. Our district has a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion site with more information about heritage, history, and awareness months. See the site here including more information about Hispanic Heritage Month.
