tchaikovsky was born on May 7,1840. His father was a influential citizan in Votinsk. he lived on a large state with many serfs working for him. He even had hid own private army of 100cossacks. His mither was his father's second wife. he had married her when she was just 20 years ago old, after the death of the first wife. She was who was responsible for bringing music into the lives of tchaikovsky family. he also has a half sister.Tchaikovsky produce his first composition when he was only four years old,with some help his sister . thier little song was called our mama in st. petersburg. In may, 1893, a few short months before his death, he wqas privileged to catch a glimpse of the future of russian music. he went to the bolshoi for the opening night of an opera called aleko. it was written by a 19 years old student who many claim became tchaikovsky's natural successor.

This he did in1869 ; it was revised twice. it was a perfect subject for him. in turning the tragey into an abtract musical drama, the fate of the lovers is tchaikosky's main concern, and he makes sure that the listener understands that the ending of the story is a spiritual triumph for them. the music is programmic, that is it develops and expresses a theme. he worked in blocks of a material; each musical theme was intended to represent a character in the drama.
