Another great event this year for our families. Thank you to our PTO for sponsoring our annual K-5 family dance. Weathersfield families had a great time dancing and socializing with their Weathersfield family.

It was great to see so many of our families participating in our annual "Lunch with a Loved One." Families had the opportunity to share a meal with their students across the week.

Spelling Bee

This week at Weathersfield School we held our annual Scripts Spelling Bee and it was the place to "BEE" for word enthusiasts! There were lots of competitors from both 5th and 6th grade. After fierce competition, Addy Craig took first place followed by Alexandria McAllister in second and Hailey Follet scooped up third place. These three will advance to the VT State Spelling Bee in March.

The Coalition for Transforming School Safety has come together to offer youth-led workshops to Empower Youth to address Hazing, Harassment, and Bullying. The training will take place at our Statewide Youth Gathering on April 11th from 9:00am to 3:00pm at Hulbert Outdoor Center in Fairlee. We welcome students directly impacted by bullying and harassment as well as allies who want to make change on this issue in their school. We are hoping that 20 students will join us in this PAID leadership opportunity. Participants will be compensated $100 for attending the training and will receive $200 in addition to support presentations back at their school. Applications are due March 1st. And we hope to let groups know of their acceptance by March 11th.

Brownsville Base Camp Summer 2025 Registration opens February 1st. Base Camp Explorers is a day camp located in Brownsville for campers entering Kindergarten-6th grade. New this summer we have a two week Adventurers program geared towards campers entering 6th-9th grades. Check out our website to learn more!

Financial Assistance is available!

We are right around the corner from state testing. I wanted to share the dates of when students will be taking the state test this year. We will start each day testing at 8:15 in the morning and students will test primarily in the morning. Please try to schedule any appointments or other activities around the testing dates, because it is important and easier for the students if they are here. If you have any questions about testing, please feel free to reach out.

Considering Woodstock Union High School? Schedule visits to best connect you with the programs and opportunities that most interest you. Your visit would include shadowing a student with interests similar to yours along with opportunities to view programs and/or meet teachers/directors of programs that you want to learn more about. Want more information? Take a moment to read this informational letter.

Attention all current 8th graders interested in possibly attending Springfield High School. SHS will work with Weathersfield School in order to schedule a day for interested 8th grade students to visit SHS and shadow a current 9th grade student for an entire school day. This opportunity is meant to give you some experience with SHS is to help you decide where you would like to attend high school! Breakfast and lunch are included in your visit...you are welcome to bring your own lunch, but you should know breakfast and lunch are FREE for all students. You would spend the entire day going to classes, advisory and lunch as well as getting some time in the tech center. Please let your counselor know if you are interested as we will be looking to schedule this visit day after the February break or into the beginning of March.
