LEAVE IT BETTER THAN YOU SEE IT
WEEK 12
We had a lot go on this week! We had a great turnout for our College and Career Fair. Thanks to Natalie, Jan, and Blair for the hard work put into this great event! At the monthly board meeting we announced our student of the month Jenna Lawler and our staff member of the month Elizabeth Meek. This year is really rolling by. We are quickly approaching Thanksgiving Break and Monday we get to celebrate all who have served in our Armed Forces. I hope everyone has a great weekend but as always remember IT'S ALMOST MONDAY!!!
GREATNESS FROM STAFF AND STUDENTS
College and Career Fair
What an amazing experience for the students at RCHS. On Monday we held our annual College and Career Fair. This has always been a great event at RCHS but this year was bigger and better!! Ms. Hornsby, Mrs. Thoman, and Mr. Orme were able to secure 15 different colleges and universities, 20 different businesses, 5 branches of the Military, The Rushville Post Office, Rushville Police Department, EMT's, and the Rushville Fire Department for our students to learn from. We had a gym full of exhibits and had some of the businesses with heavy equipment in the parking lot. This day was a huge success and I thank everyone who was involved!!
Spell Bowl
Congratulations to Bethany Wyrick for winning the spell bowl at Shelbyville this week. Here is a quote from the coaches.
"What an amazing night for our spell bowl team of Bethany Wyrick. She placed 1st in division 2 at the Shelbyville meet tonight!! So proud of her and all her hard work."
STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Jenna Lawler was our student of the month for October. Jenna has been such a great leader this year in Ag and FFA. She has helped our Ms. DeLey and Ms. Yager many times. Jenna is a natural leader and is great at anything she does. At the National FFA convention she was the National Champion for Extemporaneous speaking. This is Jenna's second National title in two years! Congratulations and thank you for being a leader at RCHS!!
STAFF MEMBER OF THE MONTH
It took a lot but we were able to pull one over on Mrs. Meek! For two weeks she thought her husband Anthony Meek was the staff member of the month but the night of the meeting she discovered that it was really her! Liz is an amazing administrator and her positive energy is contagious with the staff and students. She is extremely organized and does so many things behind the scenes that nobody ever sees. Thank you liz for the effort you poor into RCHS every day!!

GREATNESS IN THE CLASSROOM
Biology
Mrs. Rinard's Honors Biology is studying saturation and the affect that different liquids have. They dip eggs into a solution and peel the shell they then soak the raw eggs in different solutions such as Maple Syrup. They can then differentiate the affects that different solutions have on the saturation process. Of course when they are finished they have to find a fun way to dispose of the eggs so they have an egg toss competition.
