Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of April 13, 2025
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear EHTHS Families,
A huge congratulations to Carter Chew who has been selected to participate in this year’s Governor’s School of Engineering & Technology hosted by the Rutgers University School of Engineering! Carter was chosen from an impressive pool of applicants across the state. As a Governor’s School Scholar, Carter will have a rigorous, three-week summer program focused on engineering and technology. Students will participate in four academic courses, collaborate on group research/design projects, and connect with talented peers and industry professionals from across New Jersey.
This week, the preschoolers in Ms. Garman and Ms. Molly’s class honored Ms. Jamie and Ms. Donna with their classroom SOAR awards—and what a well-deserved recognition it is! Their warm smiles, kindness, and daily dedication brighten not only the PK classroom, but all of our students each day in the cafeteria. Thank you, Ms. Donna and Ms. Jamie, for all you do!
Our annual Speech and Language Egg Hunt, led by Mr. Mittelman, brought together high school and preschool students for a fun, collaborative event in the library. Students from the MD classrooms partnered with preschoolers to search for eggs and complete a communication-based activity that encourages teamwork and conversation. Special thanks to the library staff for their incredible support and to all the teachers and paraprofessionals who made the event such a success. It was a wonderful morning of learning, laughter, and connection!
Congratulations to five students in Mr. Renteria’s Engineering III class who passed the Solidworks Certification Exam this week! Caroline Bruno, Jaimin Trivedi, and Alexander DelaCruz Camacho passed and Matthew Reed and Hannah Lee achieved perfect scores. Way to go, future engineers! Your hard work and dedication to mastering advanced design software is truly impressive.
Do you know an outstanding athlete, coach, team, or contributor who deserves to be recognized for their impact on EHT High School athletics? We are now accepting nominations for the next class of the EHTHS Athletic Hall of Fame! Click here to submit a nomination. Let’s honor those who have helped shape the legacy of excellence in our athletic community!
Don’t forget, school will be closed through April 27. We are excited to welcome the students back on April 28 as we kick off the final stretch of school. Have a wonderful spring break!

PreK
The preschoolers at the High School in Ms. Garman and Ms. Molly's class awarded Ms. Jamie and Ms. Donna with their SOAR awards this week. Ms. Donna and Ms. Jamie have made such an amazing impact on our students this year, that we wanted to give them a big shout out. Thank you for always brightening our day with warm smiles, laughter, and kindness. You deserve to be recognized!
PreK and MD Easter Egg Hunt
Tuesday morning on 4/15 we had our annual Speech and Language Egg Hunt in the library. This hunt incorporated communication skills both during and after which made for a fun morning. The MD classrooms (Ms. Maira, Mrs. Borman, Mrs. James, and Mrs. Hodgens) came together with Mrs. Garman and Ms. Molly Gordons Preschool classrooms. The high school students broke off into groups and assisted the preschoolers in finding eggs. Each group also had a paraprofessional supporting them, but the preschoolers were locked in on a mission as they worked hard and searched all over. Once they found 9 eggs per group, they each were provided with a communicative worksheet where the high schoolers worked with the preschoolers to complete. This helped initiate communication among the group and reviewed their fun throughout the hunt. The students had a ton of fun and every teacher and paraprofessional involved was extremely helpful in making the event a success. Mrs. Grossman, Mrs. Sullivan, and the staff within the library provided the amazing support, space, and help which really made the whole event possible. It was a team effort with everyone and I can’t say thank you enough to everyone who was a part of it.
Attention Parents!! Project Graduation needs your help! Please consider picking up a shift, help chaperone our graduation night and give our seniors an amazing send off!

#DAY 1
The High School will be continuing with this bullying-prevention program for the 2024-25 school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion, outline expectations for behavior toward each other and the responsibility to intervene, report and to reach out for help if individuals observe bullying behavior.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams.
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly.
This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring--this notion is called being an Upstander--an #EHTUPSTANDER. Hit the play button below and see for yourself! 🤩
Has YOUR student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
