A Letter from Mrs. Wasylkiw, Principal
Week May 25th - May 30th
In honor of Memorial Day, we pause to reflect and remember the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Thank you for ensuring our safety and protecting our freedom. Monday, May 26th is a non-student day.
Congratulations to the Class of 2025! It has truly been an honor to work with an amazing group of students. The Class of 2025 is made up of trailblazing, history-making, legislative writing, legacy leaving leaders!
Thank you to our Senior Class Council, Junior Class Council, JROTC, Sumner’s Band, Orchestra, and Chorus for your involvement in our graduation ceremony. Additionally, thank you to our PTSA, Athletic Boosters, and Performing Arts boosters. Without these organizations, our students and faculty would not have the resources to provide our school with an incredible experience. Parents and Families, I highly encourage each of you to join and become a part of these organizations in the 2025-2026 school year.
Your involvement is important to enable the school to meet the needs and aspirations of our students and faculty. If you are looking to get more involved, please reach out and we can connect you with our PTSA, SAC, and/or Boosters.
This week we are on a special bell schedule for Semester 2 District Exams and AICE Chemistry testing. Remember no backpacks are permitted on campus this week.
Please encourage all students to be present and on time. There is a ten-minute passing period between the exams. Students who do not have a second exam can get picked up between that time. If the student does not get picked up before the start of our next period, they will be required to report to their assigned class. Once students leave campus, they may not return to take the school bus. Students will be released Tuesday – Thursday at 12:50 PM and will have the option to get a grab and go lunch. On Friday, May 30th is Semester 2 Exam make-up only and students will be released at 10:30 AM. The Main Office will close at 11:30 AM on Friday so that our team is able to enjoy our end of year gathering.
This June we offer HVK12 Summer Learning Program. Priority for this on campus program is given to our rising seniors and rising juniors to stay on track for graduation. If you would like more information about the program, please complete the following form - https://forms.office.com/r/2KXh5nrNXJ
Students can also sign up for HVK12 and/or FLVS to take courses at home.
If you have a rising Freshman student, please see the flyer below with more information about our summer one-day transition camp. Students will get to meet students, faculty, staff, interact with one another and tour the building.
Our summer office hours are Monday – Thursday 8 AM – 3 PM. New student registration is by appointment only. Please see our website for more information.
This is our last newsletter for the school year. Thank you again for your continued support!
Let’s finish strong. Rays UP!
Sincerely,
Christine Wasylkiw
Principal
