October 9, 2024 - NEWSLETTER
Hello Centerview families!
Wow! What a terrific Tuesday for our Centerview Fundraiser Fun Run! So many of you were there as families to participate in the Parent Teacher Organizational (PTO) annual FUNraiser! Our students, teachers and families had a blast on a beautiful fall day! As I told our students…the day was about FUN and APPRECIATION for our school community and the awesome opportunities that together we will provide as we move through the school year. Check out the photos below!
We will be tallying the numbers to see if we met our fundraiser goal of $12,000. Friday afternoon, we will be having an outdoor All School Meeting to unveil the final amount we raised and we be honoring the icing of Centerview staff. Again…fun and appreciation!
Conferences begin on Thursday evening with additional opportunities to connect next Tuesday evening, October 15 and during the day on October 16. If you have not yet signed up, please reach out to your child’s teacher or the office to schedule an appointment. If those dates do not work for your schedule, we work with you to identify another time.
As a reminder for next week, there is no school for students October 16-18. Enjoy the fall break! Because next week is a short one, there will not be a newsletter next Wednesday. If you have questions or need information, please reach out. We look forward to connecting and talking soon at conferences.
Take care,
Mike

Thank you to everyone who attended the Fun Run yesterday! It was a great day and was fun to see all of the families cheering their students on with bubbles! We appreciate all of the hard work and effort put into raising money over these past few weeks and are grateful for all the funds raised. This money will help the PTO fund family events, staff appreciation and field trip busing for this school year.
The next PTO meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Learning Commons. All families and their students are welcome and encouraged to attend. If you are interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities with the PTO, please fill out the PTO Volunteer Interest Form. This makes it possible for us to send you the SignUpGenius as soon as it is available.
Thank you again for an amazing Fun Run and for all of the funds raised!
What does personalized learning really mean?
Designing the experience of school so kids care to learn is at the heart of Spring Lake Park Schools approach to personalized learning. But what does personalized learning really mean?
While a lot of schools talk about personalized learning more generally, we now have a resource that describes in more detail what the K-12 student journey should look and feel like when we are at our best at Spring Lake Park Schools. While no experience is ever perfect, the K-12 Student Journey provides examples of what we are aiming for in each of our Spring Lake Park schools as we work to create a sense of value and belonging, personalize learning and innovate at each grade level.
At the beginning of a new school year, this information provides the most current take on our approach and aspiration. Check out the full piece online.
SLPHS fall play: Puffs (for Young Wizards)
For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs... who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.
This production will be performed in "Theater in the Round" on the stage. A unique, up close experience you can only experience once every 3-4 years in Spring Lake Park Theater. Exciting for the cast, crew, and certainly the audience sitting just feet from the performers. Purchase your tickets today.
Performance dates:
- Friday, October 25, 7 p.m.
- Saturday, October 26, 7 p.m.
- Friday, November 1, 7 p.m.
- Saturday, November 2, 2 p.m.
