This week's events:

• Mon. June 17th - School Closed in observance of Eid al-Adha

Congratulations to our boys Varsity Baseball Team on winning the CYO Championship this past Wednesday!!! They played a great game and had a stellar season!!

Way to go Panthers!

• Graduation will take place on Friday, June 21st, 2024 @10 AM at The College of Staten Island.
• Parents will be notified via our school aides as to whether we were able to honor their request, and to what extent, within approximately a week to 10 days of June 1st.
  

• As this year’s class is sizable, assuming we receive a high volume of requests, most families will receive only one additional ticket.

• Graduation gowns will be distributed in mid-June.

• Last, all students will receive their complete allocation of tickets on the day before the ceremony, during Panther Day.

We are no longer accepting requests for additional graduation tickets. Requests already made will be honored to the extent possible and students will receive their complete allocation of tickets on Thursday, June 20. If you made a request for tickets, please note that due to the high number of graduates, seating limitations at CSI, and the high volume of requests, it is likely one additional ticket will be granted in most cases. You will be notified of the status of your request over the next 5-7 school days. Also, students will receive their graduation gowns the week of June 10-14.

June 11 – Senior Awards Ceremony (6:00PM)

June 20 – “Panther Day” - students receive yearbooks and graduation tickets, Talent Show (all students wear senior t-shirt)

June 21 – Graduation Day* (College of Staten Island, 10:00AM)

June 25 – Senior Banquet - Hilton Garden Hotel (details to follow; participating students must attend

school through period 1, which concludes at ~9:04AM).

June 26 – Last day of school, Hawaiian shirt school spirit day – Diplomas distributed.

If your student is in the 6th or 7th grade and you will be moving out of state or to a non public school, please email Jennifer Gigliotti at jgigliotti@schools.nyc.gov and she can send you the necessary paperwork you will need to complete. Thank you!

The CHAMPS program is in session. It is available Monday- Friday at 7:00 am. This program is free of charge for our students. It is designed to help our students become better fit by exercising every morning. They will take part in fitness activities as well as a variety of team sports. We are happy to offer free, Tuesday afternoon Virtual English tutoring support to our students. Classes will meet weekly on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 pm-4:30 pm (classes started December 5th) Classes will take place remotely through the "Tuesday Virtual ELA Tutoring Google Classroom". To attend, register your student at IS75.org under the payment & Registration tab. Registration is free and guarantees your child an invite into the google classroom.

We are happy to be able to provide additional Math support "virtually" on Saturdays!!

1. Classes will meet weekly on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM beginning on October 7th.

2. Tutoring will be available for 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 7th Grade Scholars, 8th Grade, and Algebra.

3. Classes will take place remotely. Students WILL NOT report to school.

4. You must register your child at the link below or at IS75.org under the Payment & Registration tab in order to attend. If you are interested in registering more than one child for this program, you must register each child separately.

The DOE is helping to promote a new program offered by the NYC Health Department for NYC teens. NYC Teenspace, powered by Talkspace offers NYC teens ages 13–17 virtual therapy with a licensed therapist, at no cost. Teens can be connected to a licensed therapist for ongoing support and/or can access online mental health exercises to complete on their own. Teens can sign up for this program on their own by following these steps. Note that teens do not need to be experiencing mental health symptoms to participate and can discuss their thoughts and feelings about their day-to-day life with a Talkspace therapist. More information can be accessed through the parents and guardians FAQ.

The list of our upcoming school spirit days throughout 2023 - 24. Here at Paulo, we understand the importance of cultivating a sense of student pride and ownership across our hallways and classrooms. We believe that this sense of warmth and optimism allows our students to feel valued and welcomed each and every day and makes Paulo a place where all students can flourish. To this end, we enlist your support in ensuring your child participates in our various Paulo Pride days. We are sharing this calendar of events with you now because we realize on some occasions you may need to secure a special outfit or piece of apparel. Every Friday students are encouraged to wear Paulo apparel. Students who have Paulo pajama pants can only wear them on Fridays. Again, our goal is 100% student participation, and we can’t do it without you!
