Due to the impact of Hurricane Helene on the local counties of York, Chester, and Lancaster, and with the safety of our staff, students, and families being our top priority, Riverwalk Academy will be CLOSED on Monday, September 30, 2024, for our K - 9th-grade students. This closure will be a full day off for all students and staff. We will use our designated bad weather make-up day on Monday, January 6, 2025. Monday, January 6th, will now be an eLearning Day for students.
At the time of this announcement, approximately 20% of Riverwalk Academy’s staff remain without power. We recognize that while many of our families in Rock Hill have had power restored, a significant portion of our families in York, Clover, and Chester are still facing outages.
Regarding Friday’s eLearning assignments, we understand that many of you are still without power or internet access. We will provide an update on Tuesday regarding extensions for these assignments.
For our 10th - 12th-grade students who follow the calendar and schedule of York Technical College, we are still awaiting a decision from the college regarding Monday’s schedule. As soon as we receive information, we will share it with this group of students and their families.
