Welcome Back! It was great seeing you at Sneak A Peek. We hope that many of your questions were answered. If not, please email your child’s teacher or call the front office.

Can you believe that Abbotts Hill Elementary School is 25 years old? Yes! This is the 25th year of educating some of the brightest and talented students in Fulton County and this year will not be an exception. The first few days of school have been outstanding. We are proud of our students for focusing on learning and establishing their daily routines.

Our first semester Curriculum Night will be held on Thursday, August 22. Parents will have the opportunity to learn about their students daily learning, schedule and routines. Please see the times in this newsletter. We hope to see you here!

Please keep your contact information up to date in Infinite Campus. It is extremely important to have the most current phone numbers and e-mail addresses on file for your student. Please make sure that you are receiving our Hilltop Happenings which is sent via e-mail about every 2 weeks. It is best way to receive school wide information and updates about upcoming events. The newsletter is sent to each household that has an email address on file and would like to receive the newsletter. If you are not receiving the newsletter, please check your spam folder or filters and verify your email address in Infinite Campus.

Finally, for up to date school information please visit our school website. This will be important as we approach the winter months and may experience inclement weather.

We are looking for volunteers to help at the PBIS store the first 2 weeks it is open! Please take a look at the Sign Up Genius below if this is something you are interested in. This is a great way to spend some time with the kids and still get to work on time.

You would need to make sure you have registered as a volunteer through Fulton County Schools. For more information, please visit https://www.fultonschools.org/all-departments/human-resources/badging/register-as-a-supervised-volunteer.

Transportation Changes

If you need to change your child's dismissal, please send in a written note. We are unable to make a transportation change via email or Seesaw message to the classroom teacher. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Should your student forget to bring the note, you must call the school and speak with someone in the front office and supply the necessary information. However, calling to make changes via the telephone should only be done in an emergency situation and not done on a regular basis. NO CHANGES can be accommodated after 1:30 pm.

Early Check-Outs

If it is necessary for a student to leave school early, please send a note to the student’s teacher. Sending a note will allow your student to be ready for dismissal and will speed the check-out process. If it is near your student’s lunch time, please indicate on the note if your child should or should not eat lunch and if they will be returning to school. Parents may not check out students to attend Abbotts Hill events, programs, etc. during the school day. A parent/legal guardian must sign out any student leaving before the regular dismissal time through the office. Only parent designees with prior verification may check out students. Be prepared to show your driver’s license when checking out students. Parents should use the bell/buzzer at the front door to contact the office to initiate an early check out. Please do not call the front office and ask for your child to be waiting in the front office, this request cannot be accommodated. Check out requests cannot be accommodated after 2:00 p.m.

We still have room parent openings across all grades. This provides you the opportunity to be a part of classroom parties, grade level activities and other volunteer opportunities not opened up to the whole school. Lunch Visitors can join their students for lunch starting the third week of school - August 19th.

This allows our students and staff to establish a routine during the first two weeks of school. Thank you for your cooperation. Please be reminded that no outside fast food or drinks are allowed. You may eat with your child only when visiting during lunch.

Birthday Celebrations

If a parent would like to have a student’s birthday recognized at school, birthday slushie treats are available for advance purchase from the school cafeteria. This is the only treat permitted. Outside treats (homemade or prepackaged) are NOT allowed. Please see the attached "Birthday Celebration Order Form" for information about ordering.
