🥳CELEBRATIONS🎉
Aqua Wolves
Shoemaker High School Swim was the only school in the district to have all six relay teams will advance to regionals.
Fives swimmers will also advance to regionals individually.
Coach Cutbirth also received the girls varsity coach of the year for District 22-5A.
They will be competing at regionals on February 3rd at 6:30 pm in College Station at Texas A & M University pool.
Honor Band
Shoemaker High School had 10 students participate in the Region 8 honor bands in Lake Belton!
Science National Honor Society
The Shoemaker High School SciNHS did excellent on the Temple College Science Challenge, they won first, second and third place on the lab section for Geology and Geophysics, first place on the Chemistry exam, and first place on the Geology exam!
Special Education Spotlight
Mrs. Letha Reeves was surprised by a generous donation from the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. for the Special Angels Prom. This will be the 5th Prom coordinated by Reeves and hosted at Shoemaker High School for all special education students in the district.
Mid Year Graduates
In January, Shoemaker celebrated sixteen students as they participated in the mid year graduation ceremony. Way to go, Grey Wolves!

Students enrolled in STAAR-tested subjects will take Interim Tests to give feedback in preparation for the new format of the STAAR tests this year.

TELPAS
On Friday, February 3, 2023, Shoemaker High School will be conducting an Informational meeting for all our English Learners. TELPAS assesses the English language proficiency of students who have been identified as English learners (ELs) in four language domains—listening, speaking, reading, and writing. TELPAS evaluates the progress that each EL makes in becoming proficient in the use of academic English. This informational will include knowing the importance and the "why" behind TELPAS testing. All ELL learners will meet in the auditorium during their 2nd period class. Additionally, students will be provided the opportunity to ask questions pertaining their ELL experience and preparation for the TELPAS testing. For questions please contact:

El viernes 3 de febrero de 2023, Shoemaker High School tendra una reunión informativa para todos nuestros estudiantes de inglés. TELPAS evalúa el dominio del idioma inglés de los estudiantes que han sido identificados como aprendices de inglés (EL) en cuatro dominios del idioma: escuchar, hablar, leer y escribir. KISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The Killeen ISD Education Foundation’s sole purpose is to enhance educational opportunities in the Killeen Independent School District. This year we are offering 64 individual scholarship opportunities for a total disbursement of $79,750 plus 6 CTC tuition waivers for KISD high school seniors graduating in spring 2023. Our scholarship application, scholarship criteria information, and the required GPA Class Rank Verification Form is online at www.KilleenEducationFoundation.org. Application Details
Students need to complete an online scholarship application by midnight February 21, 2023 to apply for all of our available scholarship opportunities. The application requires general student information, identification of academic standing, extracurriculars, community service experiences. Students will need to upload a student resume, two reference letters, and the required GPA Class Rank Verification Form signed by the school counselor.
WOLF WARRIOR SCHOLARSHIP
Requirements: : The Wolf Warrior Scholarship may be awarded to Robert M. Shoemaker High School graduates attending Central Texas College (CTC) and A&M-Central Texas. In order to achieve eligibility, the student must meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled at Central Texas College, taking a minimum of 12 semester credit hours
- Complete the final two years at A&M-Central Texas with a minimum of 15 semester credit hours
- Maintain a minimum of 2.0 GPA each semester (while attending both CTC and A&M-Central Texas)
- Failure to meet minimum requirements will result in the termination of the scholarship
Value:The value of this award is up to the value of tuition, fees, and books during an approved semester.
CTC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The CTC Foundation scholarship deadline is 11:59 p.m. on February 28th for scholarships for the fall 2023 and spring 2024 semesters. One of the included scholarships is the Wolf Warrior Scholarship. This scholarship is near and dear to us here at SHS since, prior to his passing, our namesake, Ret. General Robert M Shoemaker, donated money for a full-ride scholarship for SHS students ONLY! This is only for students that plan on attending Central Texas College and transferring to Texas A&M-Central Texas.
