Community Leaders Breakfast at SMS
Mr. Brian Zimmerman, CEO of the Cleveland Metroparks, was our keynote speaker and he delivered a message that supported our Model Mustang and P R I D E competencies. He advocated hard work, setting goals, taking advantage of opportunities to lead and empower others. He spoke about resiliency and overcoming obstacles as well.. He recommended getting involved and being leaders in their schools and community and respecting yourself and others.
The morning was enjoyed by 65 students and 15 community leaders. The following community members shared their time and stories with students, and allowed questions and conversation over breakfast. Thank you to: Dr. Cameron Ryba, Mrs. Jenni Pelko, Assistant Chief, AJ Aljabi, Mrs. Margaret Kilngzing, Dr. Phillip Alfano, Mr. Frank Gati, Mr. Jared Anderson, Mr. Jason Trusnik, Mrs. Joyce Altheron, and Mr. Thomas Mathias.
PTA parents also joined the event and were helpful in setting up and taking down the breakfast. It was wonderful to have them participate and enjoy and we are grateful for their help and contributions.
It was a wonderful morning and we appreciate community members helping motivate and support our students. We are proud of our students who participated; they represented themselves and our school so well.
