The Manning Minute
May 4, 2025
Dear Manning Families,
I’d like to begin by expressing my gratitude to our amazing staff who helped make the sixth grade Outdoor Lab experience so memorable. Our students had a fantastic time, and we’re thankful that our district continues to provide this unique opportunity for all sixth graders!
This week, students will take their final MAP assessments in both ELA and math. These assessments provide valuable data that help us tailor instruction to individual student needs and guide our overall instructional planning. You can support your student by ensuring they get plenty of rest, come to school with a fully charged Chromebook, and are ready to show all they’ve learned this year!
A quick reminder—our final Coffee with the Principal of the year is happening this Friday, May 9, at 8:30 a.m. I’ll be sharing highlights from our recent family and community survey, along with a look ahead to the 2025–2026 school year.
Our last Parent Partnership meeting of the year is scheduled for Thursday, May 15, at 5:00 p.m. in the main office conference room. You can find the agenda [linked here]. We hope you’ll join us for this important conversation.
Wishing you a great week ahead,
Matt
From our DTL Sarah Hammershaimb
Hi Manning families,
Just some updates for you re: books and technology.
All Manning library books are due back on Tuesday, May 13th. The library will be sending out notices for books that are missing. Please make arrangements to either replace the book with another copy, or pay the fine for the book if it is lost.
The Jeffco Public Library’s summer reading challenge program begins on June 1st. Please visit the JCPL website for more information! The more students that complete the challenge this summer, the greater Manning's chances of winning money to add books to the library!
8th grade families - Your student will be receiving a new device from their Jeffco high school. Please hold onto your current device until the fall, unless your student will not be attending a Jeffco high school. In that case, please return the chromebook to Manning at the end of the school year.
If student chromebooks need to be repaired over the summer, please view this article to find out locations and hours for the repair center.

Golden High School FCCLA Chapter Officer Application
We are about to start the process of selecting our new FCCLA Chapter Officers for next year. Our current chapter officers wanted to give our incoming freshmen from surrounding middle schools the opportunity to apply if they are interested!
If you are unfamiliar with FCCLA, it is a student-led organization for anyone interested in leadership, career readiness, and making a difference in their families, schools, and communities. Through projects, competitions, and service, members can build real-life skills like teamwork, communication, goal setting, and time management.
Here is the form. All entries need to be completed by May 7th.
Even if our incoming freshies are not interested in an officer position right away, we still encourage them to check out FCCLA next year. 🙂
