MARINER MANIFEST
August 23rd, 2024
Dear Mariner Family,
As we complete the first two weeks of school, I am thrilled to share that we’ve had a fantastic start to the school year! Our campus is looking great, and it was wonderful to see our students return with such enthusiasm. Our staff is dedicated to ensuring that your child is learning in a safe and supportive environment. Our SBAC (state testing) scores are AMAZING!!! For overall proficiency, of the 58 CCSD Middle Schools, we ranked 1st in Math and Science (8th grade) and 7th in ELA. I am beyond proud of our students and staff for their hard work in preparing and achieving success.
As we continue the school year, here are some ways you can help support your child's success:
Stay Involved: Regularly check in with your child about their day. Ask about what they’re learning and any challenges they might be facing.
Monitor Progress: Keep an eye on their grades and assignments through our online portal. Reach out to teachers if you notice any areas where your child might need extra help.
Encourage a Routine: Help your child establish a consistent routine for homework, study time, and sleep. A balanced schedule is key to maintaining focus and energy throughout the school day.
Promote Healthy Habits: Encourage your child to eat well, stay hydrated, and get plenty of physical activity. A healthy body supports a healthy mind.
Stay Connected: Keep in touch with the school through newsletters and emails. Your involvement is crucial to your child’s success.
Thank you for your continued support. Together, we can make this a successful and fulfilling school year for all of our students.
Best regards,
Jaydel Wilson

SBAC ACHIEVEMENT INFORMATION
The document below shows our achievement in ELA, Math, and Science (8th grade only) over the last three years. It also shows our ranking versus the other 57 middle schools in CCSD. Students that showed growth on the SBAC exams were provided lunch from Raising Cane's on Thursday, August 15. Those students that scored a 4 (the highest score achievable) on both the ELA and Math exams were treated to root beer floats with the principal the following day.
