Counselor's Corner
Hello Parents,
I am Mandee Davis, the school counselor at SHMS. Kind people are my favorite people, and I believe in spreading love everywhere you go!
As we begin a new semester, it's a great chance to encourage your student(s) to buckle down, stay focused on their grades and assignments, and finish the year strong. I encourage you to discuss your child's experiences and challenges and celebrate their accomplishments. If you do not yet have access to PowerSchool, please reach out, and I will help set up your account.
As we continue through the winter months and cold weather is upon us, please reach out to me & let me know if your student needs a warm coat/jacket.
We’re in this together! As your child’s school counselor, I support you and your child. Feel free to reach out if you have any concerns or need resources. I can be reached by phone at 706-778-7121 or e-mail at mcdavis@habershamschools.com.
Media Center & Technology
Hello from the Media Center!
We are enjoying having students in the media center this year! We provide a wide variety of books for students to choose from to meet their individual needs and interests. We also provide technology assistance to students. We look forward to working with our SHMS students to help them become knowledgeable users of media and technology. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our media center, please feel free to contact us.

The Accelerated Reader goal for the third nine weeks is to complete 2 AR books - fiction and nonfiction - and earn a passing score on the corresponding AR quizzes. Students who meet this goal will earn a prize at the end of the nine weeks. Each Destination team will also earn points based on the percentage of students in their Destination who meet the goal.

Instructional Coach
Dear Parents,
As we move into February, we are quickly approaching a critical time in our students' academic year. Georgia Milestones will begin on April 22nd, and our students will be assessed on their knowledge and skills in core subjects. As the instructional coach, I want to emphasize the importance of attendance during this period. Regular attendance and participation in class are essential for your child's success on the Georgia Milestones.
Our teachers will conduct benchmark testing throughout March. This testing helps educators collect data on your child's strengths and areas that need improvement. They use this information to deliver targeted instruction and remediation, ensuring your child is well-prepared for the upcoming assessments.
Thank you for your continued support of your child's academic success. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's academic success.
