A Note From Mr. Meyers
As we prepare for winter break, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible moments we’ve shared this school year. One of the highlights since our last newsletter was our Winter Music Program. It was truly a joy to see our students shine on stage, showcasing their hard work, creativity, and talent. Thank you to all who attended and supported this wonderful event!
This time of year also offers an opportunity to celebrate the progress our students have made, both academically and personally. From their dedication in the classroom to their acts of kindness and respect toward one another, they continue to grow in ways that make us all proud.
As your family enjoys the winter break, I encourage you to spend time reflecting on these achievements and looking ahead to the new year. Ask your child about their favorite memories from school so far and what they hope to accomplish in the months ahead. These conversations can help set a positive tone for their continued success.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. I hope your winter break is filled with joy, rest, and time spent with loved ones. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year, ready for another chapter of growth and learning!
Wishing you a safe and happy holiday season,
Alex Meyers
A Note From Mr. Blaser
Dear Parent or Guardian,
We are providing families at Bruneau Elementary School and Grand View Elementary School with free inkless at-home child identification kits. These optional kits are designed to help you collect critical information that could assist authorities if your child ever goes missing.
The kits are for home storage only and should be shared with law enforcement only in an emergency. Along with the kit, you will have access to a digital safety game plan, including tips on prevention and age-appropriate safety discussions.
A QR code is included for a video with instructions and more information. Please consider completing the kit and keeping it in a secure place.

Mrs. Morrison's Classroom
Merry Christmas from Mrs. Morrison's room. We have been working on a gingerbread boy project and we made gingerbread boys!! We have also been discussing families and who is in a family. We looked at our family pictures and discussed where families live. Have a Happy Holiday!!
Kindergarten Miss Wampler
Kindergarten has been working hard to finish the alphabet! We are practicing the long and short vowels and working on our cvc words. We have enjoyed listening to The Mitten and learning about the animals that fit inside. In math we've had fun subtracting ourselves and telling subtraction stories. Our social studies focus has been wants and needs and who helps us in our community. We were super excited to have our librarian, Mrs. Merrick, read us a story this week! We were able to each get our own books! December has been a busy month getting ready for our music concert. We also had a special visit from 4H to decorate cookies and learn about the activities we can participate in.
1st Grade Miss Baker
2nd Grade Mrs. Gordon
This month in 2nd grade, we have been working on place value in Math and moving right along in our Reading curriculum. We have also learned how to abbreviate in our sentences and we've been enjoying reading Christmas books for the month of December as well. The students earned a popcorn party for achieving 100, 100% iReady lessons in Math, and they enjoyed getting to eat their popcorn and watch Frosty the Snowman. The students also got to decorate sugar cookies with 4-H and had a fun time getting to decorate and eat their creations. We also did great in our Christmas concert! We are looking forward to the new year and hope our families have a very, Happy Holiday's!
3rd Grade Mrs. Rice
Reading and Writing
This month, we have been focusing on mastering the proper format for essays in preparation for the upcoming ISATs. Students have also been honing their skills in identifying main ideas, analyzing text structure, and continuing to build their overall reading comprehension abilities. We also celebrated our iStation runners: Natalee Ontiveros and Elliana Smith for their growth in reading comprehension and vocabulary!
Math
We recently completed Unit 2, which focused on strategies for solving multiplication and division equations while exploring the connection between these operations. The unit concluded with lessons on identifying number patterns and determining the rules they follow. After the break, we will begin Unit 3, which will cover calculating area and interpreting and creating scaled graphs.
Holiday Fun
Students were generously gifted gingerbread houses, which they had a blast building. The activity allowed them to practice teamwork and creativity as they worked together to complete their designs. Adding to the holiday fun, 4H representatives came in to tell us more about 4H and gave us cookies to decorate! I know it's been a busy month with lots of fun and hard work. We had the opportunity to see the results of some of their hard work during the winter program at Rimrock.
4th Grade Mrs. Meyers
The fourth graders have been dancing through their work! They read a variety of stories teaching them about different forms of art. They read about the Beatles and listened to many of their songs. The students then read about a few different dances from around the world and got to watch videos of those dances. They were really into learning about breakdancing and the Los Viejitos dance. They are wrapping up their descriptive writing papers on their apex predators and will be getting ready to practice using RACE when answering questions.
In math, they have been working really hard to master using the area model to multiply multi-digit numbers. They reviewed the math skills they have learned this year to help them create a hot chocolate stand. They then enjoyed some hot chocolate during our winter celebration!
We had Owyhee County 4-H representatives come visit us this month! They informed the students more about 4-H and brought cookies to decorate.
Hope everyone enjoys their break! Happy Holidays!
5th Grade Miss Corza
