HAS Weekly Update

• The first day of school is Thursday, September 5, 2024
• Kindergarten - AM students will attend from 8:40am - 10:25am
• Kindergarten - PM students will attend from 10:55am - 12:40pm
• Elementary School Students: 8:40am - 12:40pm
• Middle School School Students: 8:00am - 12:25pm
• Picture Day - Thursday, September 12, 2024
• Elementary Back-to-School Night - Tuesday, September 17, 2024
• Middle School Open House - Thursday, September 26, 2024
• Please remember to review/revise your child’s emergency contact information. Parents/Guardians should review their emergency contact list prior to school beginning to ensure the individuals on the contact list are willing and able to pick up their child in a timely manner in the event of the student becoming ill. Thank you in advance for taking the time to update this critical information.

The following are the designated entrance/dismissal doors for each grade level:

Teachers will greet the students at their designated doors.

• Mrs. Fernandez’s class - Exit 1
• Mr. Manalo’s class - Exit 1
• Mrs. Rocci’s class - Exit 1
• Kindergarten AM - Exit 2
• Kindergarten PM - Exit 2
• 1st Grade - Exit 1
• 2nd Grade - Exit 1
• 3rd Grade - Exit 3
• 4th Grade - Exit 4
• 5th Grade - Exit 4

• On the first day of school when students enter the building they will report to their E/I classroom.

• The Middle School Schedule will consist of (8) 40-minute periods and (1) 30-minute Enrichment and Intervention E/I period each day.

• During the E/I period, students will have the opportunity to meet with a teacher and get support if needed or work on other assignments.

• The following are the designated entrance doors for each grade level:

• 6th Grade - Exit 5

• 7th Grade - Exit 13

• 8th Grade - Exit 7

If your child is absent for any reason, please call our absence line at 908-709-6983 (24/7) or email has-attendance@cranfordschools.org (copy-paste email address)

Please make sure you email the attendance office (HAS-attendance@cranfordschools.org) or call 908-709-6229 or 908-709-6983, if your child has to be signed out early to attend an appointment.

If you need to drop off medication with the nurse (Nurse Lydia) you can come on:

Wednesday 9/4/24 from 8:30am -11:30am or 1:00pm - 3:00pm

You can also come on the first day of school from 8:00am-11:30am or 1:00pm - 3:00pm

For your convenience, please come to the Nurse's window to drop off medication.

The safety of our students is of the utmost importance and we ask that all our visitors follow our procedures.

1. If you are picking up your child for an appointment please notify the office ahead of time by emailing (HAS-attendance@cranfordschools.org) or calling 908-709-6229 or 908-709-6983. The nurse may also call to have you pick up your child if they are feeling ill.
2. During pick up have your ID ready and ring the main entrance intercom bell. State your name and the reason for your visit then present your ID to the camera.
3. You will be buzzed into the vestibule.
4. Please wait in the vestibule.
5. We will bring your child to you in the vestibule where you will sign them out.

**Kindergarten single sessions will alternate between AM & PM classes according to the following schedule: Student Entry at 8:40am - Dismissal at 11:20am

Monday, 10/14/24 - PM only (no AM session)

Wednesday, 11/27/24 - AM only (no PM session)

Friday, 12/20/24 - PM only (no AM session)

Monday, 2/3/25 - AM only (no PM session)

Monday, 3/10/25 - PM only (no AM session)

Wednesday, 6/18/25 - AM only (no PM session)

Thursday, 6/19/25 - PM only (no AM session)
