MST Weekly Update
November 15, 2024

Good afternoon to all of our MST family members.
Today marks the halfway point of the month of November and we are now into the second quarter of the school year. Report cards will soon be distributed, and students are working to prepare Thanksgiving baskets for members of our MST community.
It's also the time for seniors to be making plans for next year. If college is in those plans, there are two upcoming activities to assist with applications and financial aid. Finally, we have a couple of ongoing fundraisers for the junior and senior classes as well as available MST gear.

Understanding the MST Report Card
MST report cards will be distributed to all students on Tuesday (if all goes according to plan) and they will be posted in Aspen as well.If you do not have access to Aspen yet, CLICK HERE to sign up.
The first report card is the most confusing as the 1 could mean they have not done any work, they have done little work, or they may be on track to earn credit. That is why the teacher comments are so important. The comments will tell you how your child is performing at this time in each class.
PLEASE NOTE that if your child is in a CTE class, that class will have a traditional letter grade.
Please see the attachment below for a further explanation.
Delayed Opening Information
As much as I hate to say it, we are moving into the time of year when snow begins to fall, and we could have a delayed opening. If the district calls for a 2-hour delay, all buses will be at their stops two hours after their scheduled time.
The MST-HS school day will begin at 9:50 with all students reporting to their Advisory for attendance. At 10:00 the students will go to their period B1 high school class or their block 2 CTE. There will not be a period A high school class or a block 1 CTE class.
FAFSA Time
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form completed by current and prospective college students in the to determine their eligibility for student financial aid.
New England College is offering In-Person support to assist with the process of filing the FAFSA form. The event is open to all and will be held at the Manchester Welcome Center on Wednesday, December 4th. Registration is required.
Senior Class Fundraiser
The senior class is selling Holiday Chocolates through Getrude Hawk! Use the link here to order and support the Senior class. There are two options for shipping. You may get FREE shipping if you choose to have your chocolate shipped to MST, and order before November 16th. If you choose this, please ensure that you will be able to pick up your order from MST or have your student bring it to you. Alternatively, you may have your order shipped to you for a cost. Please make sure you are selecting the proper shipping at check-out. The fundraiser will be on-going until December 8th for orders shipped to your house. Thank you and enjoy some chocolate!
Junior Class Fundraiser
Now that we are into the month of November, it is time to start thinking about the upcoming holiday season.
The junior class is selling wreaths as a fundraiser from now through December 1st. Plants and other gift items are also available. Please ask around to your family, friends, neighbors, teachers, etc. to see if they want to purchase something to support junior class activities.
