Hybrid In-Person Learning Resumes December 7

On Monday, December 7, we will resume Hybrid Learning with students once again returning to in-person learning on M, T or Th, Fr. We appreciate your flexibility during this adaptive pause and we are excited to welcome the students back on Monday to resume the hybrid schedule of 2 days in-person and three days remote.

Preferred Instructional Model after Winter Break

As indicated in Superintendent Stec's communication sent on Thursday, please be on the lookout for a survey all families will need to complete regarding your preferred instructional model (hybrid/in-person or all remote) once we return from Winter Break. Your selection will be in place through Spring Break. Families will be asked again what learning model they would prefer after we return from Spring Break.

Winter Weather Day Expectations

In event of an inclement weather day or days, District 44 intends to utilize a Remote Learning day instead of an emergency day. This means:

All students will be provided remote lessons for that day or days.
The district will continue to follow its emergency notification procedures, meaning families will be notified as soon as possible of our need to utilize a remote learning day.
We will try, to the best we are able, to provide as much notice as possible. However, families should be aware that in some circumstances this decision may not be communicated until the morning, no later than 6am.
Families will receive this notification in the form of a phone call to all contacts on file, and email, text message, alert on the school and district websites and an alert via the local news stations.
We will also post to our Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Mobile Blood Drive- December 9

Once again the Vertsi Blood Center of Illinois will have a Mobile Coach parked outside of Glenn Westlake Middle School on Wednesday, December 9, from 9:00am-2:00pm. Please click on the Blood Drive Link for more information on how to sign up to donate.

Season of Joy

With the holidays fast approaching, the Butterfield Staff and PTA are hosting a Season of Joy collection for our families in need. This year has been difficult for many families and we would like to make this holiday season as joyful and special as possible.
