School Board Appoints New Executive Director of Finance
Theresa Caporuscio Appointed as Director of Transportation Operations
On December 9, 2024, the Culpeper County School Board announced the appointment of Theresa Caporuscio as the new Director of Transportation Operations for Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS).
Theresa brings nearly two decades of experience in student transportation to her new role. She began her career as a school bus driver in 2007 with Rappahannock County Public Schools before joining CCPS as a driver trainer in July 2018. She later advanced to Lead Bus Driver Trainer, Third Party CDL Tester for the DMV and, in October 2023, became the Assistant Director of Transportation for CCPS.
Recognized for her dedication and exceptional performance, Theresa was named the CCPS Classified Employee of the Year for the 2022–2023 school year. This honor came after her peers in the Transportation Department selected her as Employee of the Year, highlighting her hard work, inclusing tireless efforts to update local training programs to align with Virginia Department of Education requirements. Known for her problem-solving skills and unwavering commitment, Theresa consistently rises to every challenge and delivers outstanding results.
Beyond her professional contributions to CCPS, Theresa has been an active community member. She has assisted as the Treasurer of Trinity Episcopal Church with monthly bookkeeping, volunteers with organizations such as the Virginia State Police and the Fauquier County Fair, and has dedicated countless hours to Band Boosters, helping plan creative fundraisers.
Theresa is also a proud mother and grandmother who enjoys sewing, bird hunting with her dogs, and skeet shooting in her free time. Her passion for both her work and her community makes her an invaluable asset to CCPS and the Culpeper community.
Theresa is very grateful and excited about her new role and is looking forward to new challenges ahead. “I am honored to continue to serve CCPS Transportation,” she said. “I appreciate the trust placed in me. I am certain I will be able to contribute even more to our team in this new position.”
