Reminders
Additional Safety Precaution at D11 Elementary Schools
Door alarms are being installed on outside hallway doors (with the exception of the front doors that are always locked) in all elementary schools. Our alarms have been installed. Starting 11/4, these doors will alarm us if they are opened during the school day without a staff member disarming them. We ask that you always enter and exit through the main doors.
Buddy Bench in memory of Tristan Rael
A buddy bench is a special place where students can sit if they’re feeling lonely or need a friend. It promotes kindness, inclusion, and friendship among students. Mr. Abbott, husband of Mrs. Abbott, is building a special buddy bench for the King playground and we are dedicating this special bench to Tristan Rael, a student that tragically passed away last year. We want to give our families and community members who are interested an opportunity to help purchase materials for our buddy bench. There is no obligation to donate but if you are interested in donating there is a link below. If we collect more than we need to purchase materials we will use those additional funds to buy additional playground equipment for our students.
How You Can Help:
- Donate: Any amount helps! Every contribution brings us closer to our goal.
- Spread the Word: Share this message with friends and family.
Lost and Found
Families, it is typically this time of year that we start to see items collecting in our Lost & Found. With the weather getting cooler, we want to ensure students have their jackets, gloves, and hats! As you can see, there are a number of items needing to find their owner! Please feel free to stop in and check out our Lost & Found. One thing to note, we donate all items that are left in our Lost & Found twice a year! Our first donation of items happens over winter break and then we will donate again at the beginning of summer break!
Help us reach our Attendance Goals
We're climbing towards reaching our goal of 95% attendance. Our next goal is to spell SCHOOL by having 94% or higher attendance for six days. When we reach our new goal students will get to enjoy pajama day. Our goal is 95% because we understand that there will be absences for illness and emergencies. We are hoping that outside of illnesses and emergencies all students will be attendance.
Health Room Needs
Our Health room could use some clothing donations. Specifically, we could really use some size 10-14 pants, shirts, and jackets and boys K-1 clothes.
