A Message from the Principal
Hello Woodland Families,
This week, we are celebrating Love as our Positivity Project trait, and what a perfect time to reflect on the love we share within our school community! Love isn’t just about words—it’s about showing kindness, support, and appreciation for one another every day. Whether it’s a student helping a friend, a teacher encouraging a learner, or a parent cheering from the sidelines, love is what makes our school feel like family.
Speaking of love and togetherness, we had an absolute blast at the Sweetheart Dance last weekend! It was wonderful to see so many families dancing, laughing, and making special memories. The joy in the room was contagious, and it was a beautiful reminder of how much we cherish our time together. Thank you to our amazing PTO and everyone who helped make the event such a success!
Let’s continue to share love and kindness with one another this week and beyond. We are so grateful for each and every member of our amazing school family!
I hope that you enjoy your snow day tomorrow and have a wonderful long weekend.
Mrs. Katalin Rosinski
Principal

Please Update Your Emergency Contact Information
As we move into the second half of the school year, we want to ensure that we have the most current and accurate emergency contact information for your student. It’s crucial for the safety and well-being of your child that we can reach the right people in the event of an emergency.
Please take a moment to review and update the emergency contacts listed for your student. You can easily check by logging into your Parent Portal, navigating to the "Forms" section, and then selecting "General Forms." You can log into Parent Portal here. If you need the login information, please reach out to the Main Office and we can provide that for you. If you find any discrepancies or need to make updates, please let me know at your earliest convenience.
Keeping this information current is vital to ensuring the safety of all of our students. Thank you for assisting us in keeping all our students safe.
Photo Opt-Out Form
As we enter the second half of the school year, we want to re-share our photo opt-out form in case you have decided you do not wish for your student to be photographed while in school here at Woodland Elementary.
If you DO NOT wish for your student to be in any photographs, please fill out this form. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Woodland Google Calendar
We know that keeping track of all the dates and events can be overwhelming, so we have decided to try and consolidate all that information to make it a little easier! We have created a Google Calendar where we will put all of our events and activities that take place. You can add the Google Calendar app to your phone to easily check and see what is going on each day. You can also integrate the calendar into your currently used phone calendar. We hope that this calendar will create a seamless way to keep track of all the things going on here at Woodland.
You can see the Woodland Google calendar here.
You can find instructions on how to subscribe to this calendar here.
You can find other helpful tips and tricks on using Google Calendar here.
The calendar will be updated daily with events, activities, things to remember, and due dates. This information will also be shared through our normal communication methods of email, text messages, and Facebook posts. We hope this calendar will be an additional tool to stay updated on events taking place here at Woodland.

Golden Paw Awards
Woodland has started a new incentive program called "The Golden Paw" awards. Students who demonstrate our ROARS expectations and go above and beyond may receive a Golden Paw certificate from our Woodland staff. The student brings it down to the Main Office, where they put it in the Golden Paw box in front of Mrs. Rosinski's office. On Friday mornings, a few names are drawn from the box and those students get to pick a prize from our Golden Paw treat cart in the Main Office.
Note: We didn't get to draw our Golden Paw winners this week due to the Snow Day tomorrow. We will draw again next week!

Positivity Project - P2
Love
This week, our school community focused on the trait of Love. This means you value close relationships with others and being close to people. The character strength of love represents the way we think, feel, and behave towards the people with whom we have close relationships. When one person loves another person, that person comforts and makes the other feel safe, sacrifices on their behalf; supports the other during struggles; and places the other's needs ahead of their own.
Why Does It Matter?
Love is imperative to an individual's happiness and fulfillment in life. Love allows us to be intimate with another person. It allows us to open up to another person and be vulnerable. That openness gives us the ability to learn and grow. Loving another person and sacrificing on his/her behalf produces positive emotions. And, it helps you access strengths- and feeling- you never knew you had.
To practice and encourage the character strength of prudence with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2) where together you will watch a video, read a quote and talk about the answers to three questions.
After Winter Break, we will focus on Cheering Others' Success.
Happy Birthday
