Staff of Aaron Mossell Junior High School: This email will be going out to parents and guardians of AMJHS shortly.
Dear Parents and/or Legal Guardians of Aaron Mossell Junior High,
I hope this email finds you well. I am reaching out to inform you of a recent incident that came to my attention late this evening. The Lockport City Police Department notified me of a potential threat that had allegedly been made by one of our AMJHS students toward the school.
Upon receiving this information, the Lockport police promptly initiated an investigation, which continued throughout this evening. The results of their completed investigation have determined that the threat in question was non-credible.
I want to reassure you that our district takes all threats seriously. When such concerns arise, we promptly investigate them in accordance with our District’s Code of Conduct and in partnership with local authorities.
Furthermore, please be informed that School Resource Officers and additional district security will be on hand tomorrow morning and afternoon to assist students and staff. This is standard practice for the district whenever a threat (credible or non - credible) has been made against any of our schools.
I again extend my gratitude to the Lockport City Police Department for their diligent efforts and collaboration with our district. Their unwavering support for our students and staff is deeply valued.
Should any parents or legal guardians have inquiries regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Kathleen Bailey, Principal of Aaron Mossell Junior High School.
Sincerely,
Mathis Calvin, III, Ed. D.
Superintendent of Lockport City School District
