Chelsea Center
Experiential Education Opportunities for ALL students
Spotlight on Student Experiences in the Great Outdoors!
The Chelsea Center maintains a database on GivePulse of summer opportunities to help students stretch their wings, follow their passions, and build their skills for competitive application processes.
Students who enjoy these nature experiences we're highlighting this week. Two of these internships are paid! Please remind students that opportunities are theirs for the seeking--and they can stop by the Chelsea Center anytime for assistance!
Students can take advantage of the following programs:
- Zoo Teens Summer Program
- St. Louis University Earth, Wind & Water Meteorology Camp
- Missouri Botanical Garden SIFT Field Sciences Program
- Missouri Botanical Garden SAGE Service Program
- Missouri Botanical Garden Mantis Service at the Butterfly House
- Danforth Plant Science Center Internship
These experiences can be coordinated-- and possibly funded-- through the Chelsea Center for WGHS elective credit. Students should see us in room 200 for more information prior to completing any registrations or making any payments. All requests for summer experiences should be submitted by 3/17. Follow along with all the Chelsea Center news at bit.ly/chelseacenternews.

Summer Opportunities by WG Pathway
The Chelsea Center maintains a database of summer opportunities to help students stretch their wings, follow their passions, and build their skills for competitive application processes. All regional opportunities we amplify are listed in the GivePulse database accessible to students at wgsd.givepulse.com via their WGSD Google Login credentials. We’ve also listed many of the various opportunities for you below. Students should express interest for an opportunity by registering via the green button on the GivePulse listing. In some cases, GivePulse will link directly to the organization's registration/application, and in all cases we will reach out to students individually once we see them register their interest in the system. You may apply to receive funding to cover the cost, so please see us in the Chelsea Center PRIOR to making any deposit. Simultaneous enrollment in a Chelsea Center Passion Pursuit course that wraps goal setting and reflection work around your desired experience is required to receive funding. Please email Dr. Kerry Arens at arens.kerry@wgmail.com with further questions.
