Testing Bell Schedule week of December 18th
Finals week is December 18-21. Please see the attached bell schedule to plan accordingly. If your child is going to be absent, please contact the classroom teacher to make alternate arrangements for students to complete assessments early. Please also submit the absence on the machform.
Yearbook Prices Are About to Change!
Reserve your copy of the 2024 Expedition created by our award-winning yearbook staff! There are two ordering options available:
Option 1: (Prices will change Jan. 2)
https://yearbookforever.com/ This option allows you to purchase a yearbook and add on extras such as having your child's name imprinted on the book, adding icons (symbols), or a plastic cover. The cost is determined by the extras you add on, but the base price of the yearbook is $65.
There's a great new way to show our school spirit! On Walsworth Yearbook's new site, you can buy this year's yearbook or a yearbook ad. I showed my school spirit, and you should too. Just go to the website and have fun!
Option 2: (This option will close Dec. 22)
Log into My Student parent portal and go to the Rycor system to pay fees. You may only order a plain yearbook. The cost is $65.
Please Note: Keep a copy of your order so that you do not double order and your child has proof of purchase in May when the books arrive.

20 Spirit Days for the Holidays - starting after Thanksgiving Break
DE Textbook Fall Drop Off and Spring Pick Up
Fall textbooks drop off and Spring Dual Enrollment textbook pick-up dates have been set. Please visit the Pasco DE website and share the textbook information with your counselors and families via your website, social media, etc. Please include the link for the above flyer and THIS FORM in your social media posts or communication with parents and students to preorder books. The pre-order machform will be available from November 27th through December 15th.
Attention High School Sophomores
The seminar will take place at Eckerd College: 4200 54th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33711.
When will the seminar be held?
Check-in for the seminar will be during the afternoon of Thursday, June 6th, 2024 & check-out will be on Sunday, June 9th, 2024. Ambassadors must be present for the entire seminar, including overnight.
What kind of program is planned?
During a HOBY Leadership Seminar, many dynamic leaders—all volunteers from the fields of business, education, government, and other professions—will address aspects of our changing world and the challenges future leaders will confront. The program will not promote any specific political party, religion, or way of thinking; but is designed to develop critical thinking skills by actively involving participants in discussions and informal debate.
Why should I send my student to HOBY?
By participating in a HOBY seminar, high school students have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills in an environment that embraces new ideas and diverse perspectives. Throughout the four-day seminar, ambassadors connect and collaborate with other students from across the region. By emphasizing personal, group, and societal leadership, students leave HOBY with a well-rounded skill set that will help them excel in whatever it is they are passionate about. Many HOBY alumni list their attendance on scholarship applications for college and even resumes when looking for future careers. Attending HOBY is joining a group of over 500,000 leaders from around the world. HOBY Alumni are change makers in business, government, nonprofit organizations, the arts, and more!
Who should I send to HOBY?
Aside from being a high school sophomore, there is no other qualification for a student to attend our seminar. HOBY is for everyone as long as they are open to learning about themselves and others’ points of view and have a passion for giving back to their community through leadership. We encourage you to send students who have either demonstrated leadership ability or show leadership potential, and are always eager to learn from those who exhibit leadership in non-traditional ways. HOBY provides a welcoming environment for students to express their ideas and step out of their comfort zone, and for students who are sometimes quieter and more reserved, HOBY may be the exact thing they need to start making an impact in their community.
What are the accommodations like?
Ambassadors stay in dorm rooms with one to two assigned roommates and community-style bathrooms in buildings reserved exclusively for the seminar. Everyone will receive nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, in addition to snacks throughout the weekend, and we are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions.
Who pays for the seminar?
A parent/guardian, or a sponsor pays the HOBY registration fees for the Ambassador. The Ambassador must provide your own transportation to and from the seminar. All costs for meals, lodging, and training materials have been generously funded by those invested in the next generation of leaders.
How much does the seminar cost?
For registrations submitted before January 1st, 2024, the fee is $400 per student. After that date, the fee increases to $425 per student.

Early Release Days
This year, Pasco County Schools will have eight early release days for students. This is a great time to schedule doctor appointments, haircuts, and special family time. Mark your calendar now for these Wednesdays! Schools will release two hours earlier than usual. Check your school's website for more details.
