Hello JES Family!
I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving break and were able to be surrounded by all of the special people in your life. It was a special week for me as both of my boys and my grand-daughter were able to join us for the holiday.
It is the most wonderful time of the year! Such a special time on campus and in our community. I absolutely love this time of the year and as usual, I am so overwhelmed by the generosity of this beautiful community. Thank you for fulfilling the needs of our JES community by granting Angel Tree wishes. As of this afternoon, only 5 gifts remain to be adopted!!! I am also so appreciative for all the many volunteers who pour their time and efforts into our school. In fact, we had over 30 volunteers on campus today grilling burgers for the staff, assisting students with the Dragon Wagon, helping out in the copy room, and helping students decorate desks in a classroom.
If you haven't already done so, please take a few minutes to stop by and visit our Gingerbread Village! We have over 200 wonderful Gingerbread houses on display, created by our JES students and families.
Our students, staff, parents, and community make JES a special school! Thank you for being a part of our family! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any celebrations or concerns you would like to share.
GO DRAGONS!

Safety Matters Presentations
Alliance for Children will be on campus again this year on Thursday, January 30th providing Opt-In prevention education for our students on Child Safety Matters. These grade level and age-appropriate lessons educate and empower students with information and strategies to prevent, recognize, and respond appropriately to the four types of child abuse (physical, emotional, sexual, and neglect), exploitation/trafficking, bullying, cyberbullying, and digital dangers.
To opt-in your child for this presentation, please click on this link: JES Alliance for Children Opt-in Form. Parents can preview the curriculum at this link (Senate Bill 9 Lessons).

Gift of Time - Recess/Lunch Coverage
Come have some fun on December 17th and cover recess and lunch so our teachers can enjoy an hour kid free!
Our amazing Volunteers of the month are none other than Drennon Lakin, who spearheaded the Emerald & Gold Gala, and key members of her committee; Brittny Tillman, Shezila Noorani, & Margaret Hubing. The adult event is massive undertaking and they tackled the event with such aplomb. The late night & countless hours manifested a record breaking year for money raised! All the money raised with impact every one of our JES dragons and staff. We are so thankful for each of you!
Save the Date for this year's Family Date Night - JES Jungle on February 8th from 5:00-7:00 pm.

Wait Until 8th Initiative
Dragon Families, please read the information below about the Wait Until 8th pledge, known in our community as Dragons Delaying Devices. This parent-led initiative encourages families to hold off on giving children smartphones until at least the end of 8th grade, helping them grow without the distractions and pressures of early smartphone use. To make the pledge active at each school, ten families per grade level are needed to join! See flyer for details.
