NYS TESTING - ELA
SGB Students will continue taking the New York State ELA Tests this week. This year, all students in Grades 3-5 will be taking COMPUTER-BASED TESTS (CBT) for the NYS ELA Tests. Each class has been familiarizing themselves with how this works through the use of practice tests.
The testing schedule for this week is as follows:
- Grades 3 - 5 - Monday, April 15 and Tuesday, April 16
INFORMATION REGARDING TESTING:
- Students who are testing should eat a healthy breakfast (as usual!).
- Students should bring a healthy snack and water bottle each day of testing.
- Students will wear their gym uniforms and participate in physical activities prior to test taking.
- Students must arrive on time at 8am.
- Physical activities will be from 8:15-8:45am each morning of testing for grades 3-5.
- Testing will be from 9am - 11:30am.
All students WHO WILL NOT BE TAKING THE NY STATE ELA TESTS will remain home until 12pm.
At 12pm, students will join their classes at recess (grades 3) or lunch (grades 4-5) after signing in at the office. Students will be marked late, but not absent on these two days.
Students who come to school will be administered the state tests, as we do not have the staff to accommodate non-test taking students. If your child will not be participating in the NYS ELA test, please click here to complete the form. ONCE THE FORM IS COMPLETE, YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO ANYTHING ELSE.
SPRING MAP Testing
Classroom teachers will share their schedule.
SGB SPRING UNIFORMS
Students are now expected to wear their SPRING UNIFORM.
There will be a grace period if your child wears an older uniform piece, rather than some of the newer uniform items as this is our first year with some changes. The weather right now fluctuates quite a bit from morning temperatures to afternoon. So, if your child would like to wear one of the SGB Uniform Sweaters/sweatshirts (red fleece, red or gray SGB sweater, SGB gym uniform sweatshirt, etc.) in the classroom on chilly days, that is allowed.
However, we strongly discourage students wearing random sweatshirts (green, blue, sports teams, vacation spots, etc.) as a uniform in the classroom. Students are aware and understand that moving forward random sweatshirts will not be permitted in the classroom. Thank you for helping your child adhere to this uniform requirement.
If you need any items please check out https://flynnohara.com/
SGB THEATER
