When a day(s) is missed due to school closings (known as “emergency day”), the day(s) will be made up at the end of the school year, in accordance with the approved calendar.
At present, due to the District utilizing three emergency days so far this school year, the last day of school is Thursday, May 30.
Please call the Attendance Line to Report an Absence
If your student is going to be late or absent, please call 331-228-2500 and press 1 to report the absence and the reason. Leave a message on the attendance line as soon as possible that morning or the night before. Thank you for your help in verifying absences from school.
Principally Speaking
This upcoming week our 2nd through 5th graders will go on a field trip to the Elgin Symphony. This oportunity was planned by Mrs. Borkowski and funded by the Scout Grant our school recieves annually. Our teachers will discuss what to expect on this field trip, please also dicuss expected appropriate behavior at a live performance.
Above you will see teh students who won the teacher experiences from the raffle, congratulations to those students. The staff member will reach out and coordinate the day and time of the event.
As many are aware Lincoln will be closing, the boundary vote that occurred a few weeks ago clarified to us which students will be attending Fox Ridge, and which will transition to Munhall. As a staff every spring we are very thoughtful of clustering students and coordinating class lists to ensure the optimal placement. This spring will not be any different, I will work in partnership with Zac Minnelli the principal at Munhall to make sure that our students transitioning to that school will have classmates they connect with. Later in the spring as we always do, every school will give parents the opportunity to share information about their child and any characteristics of the teacher or placement details that can support this work. We are collaborating with the Munhall staff to make this transition the best it can be.
Cougars Reading Club
The Cougars Reading Club began this week! Students received information last week regarding this fun reading program. Each day, students are expected to complete their grade-level reading goal, and in the spring, Lincoln will celebrate with an in-school field trip to a Cougars game. For most grades, these reading goals have been in place since the beginning of the school year, so this program will not be a major departure from what we already do at Lincoln to promote lifelong reading enthusiasm. Rather, the hope is that this will encourage consistent reading habits and also spark conversations between parents and kids about what books they are enjoying. To that end, please fill out THIS FORM for each student in your household to verify his or her completion of the reading goal. A new form will be sent out in the bulletin each week to track student progress.

Feed My Starving Children
Hello Lincoln families!
It is Feed My Starving Children time again. This organization provides food for the needy people across the world. We at Lincoln are doing two things. First, we are going as a group to fill the Manna Packs at Feed My Starving Children on Monday, March 11th. Second, we are collecting money to donate to Feed My Starving Children.
A quarter and a dime, extends a life line.
Sign up for packing the bags through the Weekly Lincoln Bulletin and bring in quarters and dimes to raise money to buy more supplies. A container for collecting the quarters and dimes will be placed in each classroom from February 26th through March 8th! Thank You!
Lincoln Runner's Club

iReady Rock Stars
In our second semster we are recognizing students who are working hard on their iReady. This is an online resource, that has a personalized pathway for students to work on both reading and math. It is recommended for students to complete 45 minutes in each contant area. Students work on this at school and at home, we encourage you to check in and see how they are doing, and encourage them to complete the required minutes, as it is a proven way to improve skill development.
Each week we will recognize 2-3 students per classroom on the previous weeks work. Below are our first group of students that are iReady Rockstars!

Lincoln Reminders
Pick up and drop off procedures
The car line on the north side of the building is for drop off, please do not park your car and get out. If you feel like your child needs assistance getting out of their car seat or you need to get out during the process please park your car in the library lot and you can walk them over to the door.
When picking up for an appointment early
If your son or daughter needs to leave school mid-day for an appointment, please understand that we will not call your child down to the office until you are here. Time in school is very limited and every moment counts, once you are here we will call them and promptly have them come down to leave with you, but we do not want to call ahead because often they are missing valuable instruction waiting for the pick up due to unforeseen circumstances. Thank you for understanding.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION TO BEGIN IN FEBRUARY
Parent Education Sessions
District 303 is pleased to present its lineup of Parent Education sessions for the 2023-2024 school year.
The Parent Education series (formerly Parent University) includes informational meetings and workshops intended to empower parents and guardians to support their children’s academic, social and emotional needs. Become informed on specialized topics, engage in two-way dialogue with speakers and fellow parents, and become a support resource for others.
The District 303 Board has approved boundary maps for elementary, middle, and high schools. Maps are effective with the 2024-2025 school year beginning this fall. The Board's decision completes a process that began last fall to reduce school overcrowding and help to ensure equitable learning experiences across the District. District 303 had contracted with demographer RSP & Associates to create concept maps based on Board-approved guiding principles and community feedback. Please see the parent notice from Superintendent Gordon to learn more and review the approved maps.

Prior to the start of class, District 303 will send test messages through its mass communication system to the contact information you have on file (email, text and phone). This is the way the District and your child’s school(s) contact you when sending mass messages simultaneously.
Visit the Home Access Center website for information on how to view and edit your contact settings.
