Maple Grove Fox Report

One of my favorite parts about being a part of this amazing school and community is the fall colors we are surrounded by here! We are outside exploring, learning, and growing all the time. Different grades are learning everything from shadows, wind, butterfly migration, milkweeds, worm migration, water testing, invasive species, plant and tree identification, and so much more. Our BioBlitz was a huge success thanks to our volunteers and experts who were able to join us. A shout our to our Field Edventure's Coach, Sandy Benton, for organizing this wonderful event. The learners have absorbed so much learning and knowledge and have learned to explore and appreciate our natural world around us!

We are looking for families to sign up to also participate with their vehicle and handing out treats to our kids and the kids in the community. If you are interesting in being a part of this great event please contact Dawn Smith either by phone or text at 715-219-6037. We would love to have you!

We know this is long….but it’s SO important and will set us up for ALL year! So bear with us!

Your PTO is excited to work with you on all the different ways our kids and teachers are supported this school year. We understand that fundraising can be exhausting sometimes.

Our fundraisers are a crucial way we raise money for experiences like attending trips to the school forest, family nights, field day and countless other ways that the individual classrooms and teachers are supported. We understand that juggling multiple fundraisers for school along with the other activities you likely have (sports or other extracurriculars) can be difficult.

Which is why we are trying something NEW this year!

New this year we are starting the Year off with a Calendar Sponsorship which is super easy for you and fun for your friends and family.

Here’s how it works:

• You’ll be given a paper calendar for tracking as well as access to a digital version to be able to advertise on social media.

• You’ll encourage friends and family to sponsor their tax-deductible donation to Maple Grove based on the day or days they want to sponsor.
  If they want to sponsor the 1st, they’ll donate $1. If they want to sponsor the 14th, they’ll donate $14. (And yes they can sponsor multiple days!)
  
  

• Collect Payment and turn in your complete calendar by October 28.

• All families who complete their calendar ($496 total collected) will automatically earn a gift card of their choice from a variety of venus. Families who choose to complete additional calendars will get a prize coupon for each completed calendar. All Students from that family will get to pick a prize.
  
  

• In addition to rewarding you for your hard work, your friends and family who sponsored a day will be entered into a drawing at the conclusion of the month. We will give out 31 prizes (one for each day sponsored), with the higher donation days receiving larger prizes.

*****Even if you don’t get your entire calendar sponsored, it is still a huge help to our school and your people will still be entered into the daily prize drawings.

If every family participates, the needs that our PTO typically finances for your students will be fully funded for the YEAR with this ONE event. This includes being able to keep the School Forest Field Trips that are so loved but now need to be financed by the PTO.

Our Kwik Trip Fundraiser is a year long fundraiser to help support our Maple Grove Foundation and our school. If you are in need of another order form, please contact Ms. Byer in the office.

Just a few reminders for parent pick up...

1. Pull all the way to the end of the building when trying driving up to door #1.

2. If your child needs help getting buckled in please pull around to the side of the building to the playground where you can park on the blacktop and get out to help buckle them in.

3. Please be here to pick up your child between 3:00-3:15. If you are running late please call the office to let us know.

Thank you for helping make pick up the most efficient that it can be!

Learners have set new goals and should be started on their October reading logs. Our learners who met their September Reading Goal should have turned it into their classroom teacher.

With the changing weather please make sure you send your child with warm enough clothes to be outside for up to 90 min at a time with our Friday Labs, including mittens and a hat. If you can, please also send them with some rubber boots if they plan to play in the woods or mud as we are starting to track lots of mud inside.

At MGCS we strive for 100% parent attendance at conferences. Teamwork and communication are important to our staff and learners. Please make it a priority to sign up using the link below to arrange a time with your child(ren)'s teacher.
