HELPING YOU GET THE MOST OUT OF TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM!
Welcome back! Last week I shared with you some Numeracy tools for use in the classroom. This week will be similar and before the end of the year we will be putting a range of apps on your classes ipads for you to use. They are especially good for vulnerable students as they provide immediate feedback and allow for students to experience success, which is vital for student confidence.
Thanks again to those who joined me last week for a mini lesson on the Program builder and the cloud desktop. If you could not make it and would like more information, please contact me.
Math Tappers Apps for Ipads
Find Sums
This is a simple game to assist students to gain a better understanding of addition and subtraction. It is not intended to replace instruction but to compliment exploration. Good to use as a warm up too.
Number Lines
The dreaded number line has prevented a number of students from moving forward in MAI. This app is tailor made for them. It provides students with the right reasoning skills by giving them opportunities to consider where a number belongs on a line.
Multiples
A simple game that helps learners to understand multiplication and division with whole numbers.
All of these games are available to download from the App store. They record progress of students who use the app which allows for easy tracking. They are iphone apps but can still be used on ipads. With reflector in each grade they can be used as a warm up exercise or small group. They are all free and will be downloaded on all ipads in the coming weeks. Feel free to download them onto your device and trial them for yourself. For more information
