Colonial Park Weekly News
January 8 - 12
Principal's Note
Dear Colonial Park Families -
Winter has definitely arrived with the start of the new year! Just a reminder, if the Superintendent calls a two-hour delay for Stoneham Public Schools, our students' day will begin at 10:30 with morning arrival starting at 10:15. There is currently no delay; however, I wanted to remind our families of the start time since winter is just beginning!
We will continue to have a Coats for Kids box set up in our lobby this month, and we are also going to collect donations for Hope for Boston's Homeless again. There is a wishlist for Hope for Boston's Homeless below. We continue to be grateful to our Colonial Park community for your extraordinary generosity.
Some upcoming dates to add to your calendar:
Early Release Day System-wide: Friday, January 12, K-4 12:00 and Preschool 11:40
No School: Monday, January 15 - in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Mrs. Lapery is running low on snacks to provide to our students who come to school without snack or just need an extra little something. If anyone would like to donate some single-serving snacks, it would be appreciated!
Please take a moment to read the Arrival Reminders included in this week's edition. We continue to work with Safety Officer Laura Engel to ensure the safety of our students and our families, and we appreciate your commitment to following the Colonial Park arrival procedures. A huge thank you to Facilities Assistant Kevin Yianacopolus for gifting us our new morning arrival signs!
Attached please find the January Lunch Menu, including the translated versions. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Best,
Rosa Flynn

Arrival Reminders for Colonial Park Families
Preschool
In order to keep our students safe, our families need to follow the expectations for arrival. Given some recent incidents associated with preschool arrival, and input provided by Safety Officer Laura Engel, it is necessary to clarify the guidelines for drop-off:
If you arrive prior to 8:35, please park in the parking lot not along the curb or in the surrounding neighborhood. You may park along the curb after 8:35, since K-4 arrival is over.
Do not under any circumstances make a three-point turn. Please drive through and exit appropriately.
Please drive slowly on school property.
If a family member that does not receive the weekly newsletter drops your child off at school, please explain the procedure to them.
K-4 Families
Please take a moment to carefully read the information below and review the attached map.
- If there is indoor Morning Arrival, there will be a flag displayed outside of Door 8 and at the main entrance. Indoor Arrival begins at 8:15.
- For morning drop-off, please stay in the right lane and pull forward as far as possible before letting students out of the car. The left lane should only be used if you are parking in the parking lot or exiting.
We ask that everyone drive slowly when on school property and is patient during drop-off.
