Thank you for an outstanding year!
Hello, Maple families and friends! Let me take this opportunity to thank you for your contributions and collaboration in making this school year a huge success! We enjoyed traditions and incredible learning opportunities, which filled this year with memorable, meaningful, and productive experiences for our students.
I continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity and dedication to helping each other that is embedded in our community. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to serve you as the building leader at Maple, and I look forward to a continued partnership with those returning next year. For those leaving Maple and District 30, I wish you the very best and hope your next chapter brings wonderful experiences and memories. Thank you all for your support, communication, and enthusiasm as we celebrate and reflect on another outstanding year.

School Report Cards, MAP Reports
Accessible in Powerschool Parent Portal
Maple’s Grads 6-8 Report Cards will be accessible through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. On Monday, June 3 at noon, parents will be able to access trimester reports via Parent Portal. Please follow the steps below to access your child’s report card:
Log into Parent Portal: ps.district30.org/public
Click Student Reports in the menu on the left
Click on the report card that you would like to review
Should you have any questions or concerns accessing your account or the report card, please do not hesitate to contact parentportal@district30.org.
SPRING MAP REPORTS: Spring MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) reports will be mailed home on June 3. MAP assessments were administered at various times during the three weeks of April 22 -May 10. Should you not receive a copy of your child's report in the next week, or have any questions contact your school building's office or the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction, Dr. Melissa E. Hirsch
Attention 7th-grade parents
Your child brought home his/her physical golden folder last week. We are transitioning to digital golden folders at Maple. Enjoy your child's elementary work!
School signup discount ends today!
Student registration for the 2024-25 school year is open. Letters outlining all info needed to complete registration were mailed to families April 24 in a white envelope marked "Registration Information Enclosed."

Please note the following dates:
May 1-31: Discounted online student registration through PowerSchool’s Parent Portal for registrations completed by May 31.
August 1: Families must complete registration, including payment, by August 1 to receive classroom teacher assignments for Wescott and Willowbrook students and advisory/locker assignments for Maple students.

We are so proud of our Mustang graduates! After a unique four years at Maple where they have grown so much in academics and in character, they are on to their next adventures at Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South.
We thank our student speakers Andrew Novak; Anna Hartzman; Audrey Lee; and Matthew Paek. Thank you to Ms. Pantich for leading the final choir performance of her career. And we congratulate the following award winners: Christa McAuliffe Award, Elena Ruiz and Sobah Singh; Dr. Edward Tivador Kindness Awards, Ana Sinelnikov and Livia Rose; American Legion Awards, Jackson Chen and Lucy Chang.

A fun Field Day
Thank you to the students, teachers and staff who made our Field Day tradition for the 6th- and 7th-graders such a success. See you Monday for our final day of the year!
VEX Robotics Summer Camp at Glenbrook South
The Glenbrook South Technology Education department is excited to offer a VEX Robotics Summer Camp that will meet on Fridays throughout the summer months from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a working lunch break. The focus of this camp will be on how to design a VEX Robot for the 24-25 school year's VRC V5 competition "High Stakes."
All Glenbrook 225 high school-aged students, as well as 6th-8th-grade students from feeder schools, are eligible to participate with a 25 student max capacity. If you are selected, the camp will follow up with payment information. Please complete this Google Form if your student is interested. Questions? Please contact jzummo@glenbrook225.org.

Magazine 2024 is Maple’s literary magazine [May-Rah-Kee; Greek], showcasing the art and writing of our 7- and 8th-grade students. Congratulations to everyone who submitted their work for this publication. This is a large file and will need to be downloaded to view. We hope you enjoy it!
Step right up, summer readers!
Step right up and discover the greatest books on earth! All Mustangs, including current 8th-graders and incoming 6th-graders, are invited to participate in Maple’s summer reading program: Maple’s Summer Reading Spectacular!
To take part in this program, students should visit Maple’s summer reading website to find all related information including the book collection with summaries, participation directions, an overview video (including book talks), and access to our Padlet.
All students who select at least one book, read or listen to it over the summer, and post a recommendation or review to Padlet will receive an invitation to a reading celebration in the Maple library in the fall.
This program is optional, but we encourage all Maple students to join our literacy community by reading and sharing the experience with other mustangs! Please reach out to Mrs. Holmer at jholmer@district30.org if you have any questions.
NOTICE: Treatments to Dist. 30 grounds
June 5
Northbrook/Glenview School District 30 is partnering with Bertog Landscape to treat the grounds on and around the Maple School soccer field. On June 5, Bertog will apply Mirimichi Green Carboniz Soil Enhancer and Aqueduct Flex Granular wetting agent.
In the event all applications cannot be applied on this date, the alternate date of application will be June 6. For questions, please contact the district’s Buildings and Grounds Coordinator Jason Borst at 847-400-8964.
July 27-28
District 30 is required to notify district families and employees before applying pesticides or
specific sealant products. Current plans call for an asphalt sealcoat to be applied at Willowbrook School on the weekend of July 27-28 with a rain date of August 3-4.
For more information on the summer dates of any additional applications, please refer to the District 30 website under District Notices. Additionally, signs will be posted after any such applications. For questions, please contact the district’s Buildings and Grounds Coordinator Jason Borst at 847-400-8964.
Hiring PT Dist. 30 Health Office Assistant

Parents and Guardians: Please consider this position or pass along the information to people who have nursing experience and may be interested in working three days a week with our fabulous District 30 Nurses, staff, students, and families. The job application and more in-depth job description can be found here.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This part-time (3 days a week) position supports the school nurses with filing, record keeping, maintenance of health records, and, at times, tending to the health needs of students. The health office assistant should enjoy working with children and be strongly interested in a child-centered preschool through eighth-grade environment.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
Current and valid Illinois license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
CPR, AED & First Aid certification preferred.
Experience with school health office duties preferred.
Working knowledge of school office principles, practices, and ethical standards; relevant state and federal laws; and rules and regulations.

Committee Chair signup
The Maple PTO invites rising 6th-, 7th- and 8th-grade parents to consider volunteering to be a Committee Chair or Member. Covering a variety of activities and commitment levels, the co-chair and member positions are a great way to meet new people and get involved at Maple!
Positions are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. To allow as many parents the opportunity to chair a committee as possible, we will be limiting volunteers to two committees until May 24. After May 24, you will be able to sign up for more than two committees.
