Dear Families
School Organization & Special Education Staffing
We’re beginning the staffing process for next year and have been approved for 8 English classes and 12 French Immersion classes based on a projected enrolment of 438 students at Polson next year. As always, this is subject to change based on actual enrolment in September. As well, as a part of the change in the Special Education Service Delivery model, Polson will be an intensive support site next year and will be staffed with a fulltime IST teacher as well as 1.5 student support teachers (currently we are staffed at .85). Additionally, we have received an increase in VP staffing(increasing from .6 to .75). This is great news for Polson. Once the staffing process is completed, we will share more information with families about next year's school organization.
Thank You Kinsman Super TV Bingo!
Kinsman Super TV Bingo-donated $2000 to Polson to put towards some additional purchases of equipment for student sports/clubs or food for our school. -score board, track & field day equipment etc.

Grade 3 & 6 students are busy preparing for provincial assessments with the support of their teachers, support staff and district coaches. This week we welcomed Freya, who will be with in the afternoons supporting grade 3 & 6 students in math & literacy in the afternoon. EQAO primary and junior assessments will be scheduled between June 3rd to June 14th. Parents/guardians of grades 3 and students will receive information about the assessments and any accommodations or exemptions that would be appropriate for their student..
School Track & Field Day
We're looking forward to our school track & field meet on Friday for students in grades 3-6. Participants should make sure to wear proper footwear for events and to have sun protection, hats, sunglasses, and water bottles. Special thanks to coaches who volunteer their time to organize and encourage our student athletes. Thank you to SAC for providing snacks for our Panthers!

École Polson Park School Advisory Council Thank you!
We appreciate the funding that students have received for field trips, busing, outdoor equipment, classroom enhancements and more. This past week, SAC approved the funding for the purchase and installation of a complete audio/visual system in our gym. This is a significant upgrade to our school that will support family events, school assemblies, instructional presentations, and special activities. A huge thank you to Ecole Polson Park School Advisory Council!
May Hot Lunch Order Program
We are excited to introduce a new lunch program for the remainder of the school year. Lunchbox provides lunches from a variety of restaurants. We will begin with Little Ceasar's and Pita Pit to start but we can adjust these options for September based on feedback from families in June. Lunchbox has been successful at a variety of schools throughout LDSB and we hope to provide a smooth transition. Our first order will be May 8th from Little Ceasar's Pizza. Once you have set up an account, you can order weekly, monthly or for the remainder of the year. Orders will continue to support our school with a small portion of each sale coming back to Polson. The website is very user friendly and it should only take a couple of minutes to set up an account and put your first order in. Click here to make an account and put your first order in.
