Patriot's Pointe

Greetings Patriot Families,
This is our last week before going into Spring Break! We want to ensure that this week is successful for all of our students and teachers. Parents please ensure that students are arriving on time to school each day and talk to your scholar about making smart choices as we prepare to finish the rest of the semester strong! We will have an EOC Slam Jam on Saturday, April 19, 2025 where our teachers will provide an engaging and intensive review of concepts and skills that will be featured on the upcoming End of Course test for Algebra I, Biology, American Literature, and U.S. History. Please see the flyer below for registration details!
As the weather begins to warm up we will need your support with appropriate school attire. Parents please support us by reviewing the reminders below regarding our dress code appropriate school attire: We ended national women's history month by celebrating the evolution of Barbie with a student-led production highlighting the many contributions of women world-wide. A special thank you goes to our student creators of the show: Erianna Evans, Miriam Davidson, Glory Fortuchang, Destiny Dill, Qaasaani Little, and Nyla Battle. These ladies created, produced, advertised, directed, and wrote the programming for our Women's History month assembly. A special thank you is also warranted for their sponsor, Ms. Kristen Saint Preux who dedicated her time and effort to supervising and providing guidance to our student leaders.
Appropriate School Attire:
Parents, we need your help! Many of our students are coming to school out of compliance with our FCBOE dress code. Please check your individual student in the morning for the following items:
The length of tennis skirts are not in compliance with the FCBOE dress code policy. Please do not allow your student to wear tennis skirts to school, even if the skirt comes with shorts attached.
No shirts tied in the back or tucked underneath undergarments that expose the mid-section
No blankets, pajama pants, bedroom shoes/slippers, or robes
Pants must not have any holes above the knee
Hoodies, hats, scarfs, bonnets can not be worn on students' heads when inside of the building
Students should not tie their shirts in a knot at the front, back, or side of the shirt.
Any shirt that exposes skin at the waist (including shirts that are tied in a knot at the back)
Skirts and shorts must have a hemline that meets the finger tips in length
Congratulations to Jack Jung, Skills USA, and our Boys Basketball team for being recognized at the Fayette County School Board Meeting last Monday! Congratulations to freshman Morghan Reckley for making the Junior Women's Basketball National Team. Our Girls and Boys Varsity Soccer teams earned a win over Langston Hughes High School last week! Congratulations to Coach Bo Heard and his entire coaching staff! Sandy Creek hosted the Patriot Invitational over the weekend and our Varsity Girls team earned a 3rd Place finish overall and our Varsity Boys earned a 1st Place finish overall. Thank you to Coach Penson, Coach Gotell, and Coach Godfrey for organizing our track meet and for coaching our students to success! Amir Hood will have his art work displayed in an exhibit at the High Museum from April 22nd-May 18th. If you are planning to visit the High Museum over Spring Break, please make plans to stop Amir's display and support our student! Our Fine Arts Department had a successful night celebrating our students in the annual Fine Arts Diploma Seal awards ceremony!
We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a Competitive Advantage!

Parents of Rising 11th grade Students
As your child transitions to the 11th grade, we want to ensure their health and safety remains our top priority. This is a reminder regarding the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) booster dose requirement for students who have turned 16 years old.
According to the Department of Public Health (DPH) guidelines, students are due for one booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.
Please note that the DPH will be conducting an audit of 11th-grade students at SCHS on September 1, 2025. To facilitate compliance and ensure your child's participation in school activities is not disrupted, we kindly urge you to take this opportunity to schedule your child's vaccination appointment before September 6, 2024.

Free College Essay Help with Notable Narratives!
About Notable Narratives:
NN is a 501 (c)(3) college essay service organization that provides completely free college essay editing services to first generation and/or low income (FGLI) high school seniors applying to college. We do this by pairing college applicants with FGLI college students, as having an advisor that comes from a similar background will allow students to feel more comfortable receiving help
Since our founding in August 2020:
Our 90 FGLI college advisors have assisted over 1,750 students from 102 unique countries and all 50 states.
1 in 4 students who filled out our annual survey were accepted into an Ivy League or Stanford University.
94% of our students were BIPOC, and 50% identified as both first-generation and low-income.
We encourage you to read more about our impact through our Impact Report, website, and Instagram. We are excited to help even more students this year!
Next Steps:
Attached is a Registration Form for you to share with your students. NN’s services are available to those who self-identify as low income and/or first generation; students do not need to identify as both to apply. I will also be sending this resource to the SCHS counselors.

Parent Square
The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.
- Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
- Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
- After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
