ELA - Ms. Lemon
Greetings Team Bridgetown! This week we will be reading our book, “Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.” There were some curriculum shifts last week that allowed us to better align the skills with the portion of the book we are reading. As we read this week, we will work on theme and sensory language as we get to know the characters, setting, and conflict of the story. Students will also complete Required Curricular Task #2.
*Please note that all class notes and worksheets are on the Canvas page. *
Science - Ms. Banson
Hi Scientists!
Thank you for attending Back to School Night; we had a wonderful turnout! This week, students will engage in an interesting assignment titled “Tennis Ball Toss,” which will help them apply their understanding of the scientific method. Additionally, they will begin a plant experiment that explores how different liquids used for watering affect plant growth. Students will also complete a pretest on Friday to assess their prior knowledge. Please note that the weekly Roots Quiz 1.4 will be held on Friday, September 27th, with the vocabulary words listed below.

World Geography & Cultures - Martini
Hello Bridgetown, I’m back! A big thank you to Mx. Lenhardt for filling in the last few weeks while I was out on paternity leave.
This week we will begin applying the map skills that students have been practicing by looking at maps of DC. We will analyze thematic maps about demographics, environment, health, safety, and more across all eight wards.
Be sure to monitor ASPEN and check grades as the recent “SummA. Map Skills Test” scores will be posted soon! Students are advised to use Thursday advisory time to catch up on work and reach out to teachers.
