Riding the Wave of Excellence!
November 19, 2023
Dear Mission Families,
May your family time during the Thanksgiving holiday bring you many joyous moments. We remind you that school will be closed from November 20th to November 24th. Classes will resume on November 27th
Thank you to the families who attended our Student of the Month Assembly. We appreciate your active involvement in your child's education and the celebration of their achievements, as we recognize it plays a crucial role in their success. We always welcome your presence on campus!
Wishing you a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving!
November is recognized as Epilepsy Awareness Month, and we encourage our school community to come together in support.
On Wednesday, November 29, we invite students to wear purple as a symbolic gesture to show solidarity with those who are affected by epilepsy. By wearing purple, we not only raise awareness but also demonstrate our comitment to understanding and supporting individuals living with epilepsy.
Let's unite as a school community to foster empathy, understanding, and support for those impacted by epilepsy. Together, we can make a positive difference and contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate environment. Thank you for your support.

Did you know that research shows that missing 10 percent of the school year, or about 18 days in most school districts, negatively affects a student’s academic performance. That’s just two days a month and that’s known as chronic absence. (attendanceworks.org). Connect with our Community School Coordinator, Chantel Rothenburger to see how Mission can support your student's attendance.

We want to emphasize the importance of monitoring and limiting your child's screen time and social media usage. While technology and social media can offer valuable educational and social opportunities, they also have the potential to become a significant distraction and, if not managed carefully, can have negative effects on your child's development. Below are 2 tips of more to come.
TIP Number 1
Set Time Limits: Establish daily or weekly screen time limits based on your child's age and needs. Ensure they have enough time for other activities like homework, physical exercise, and social interactions.
TIP Number 2
Monitor Content: Regularly check the content your child is interacting with, whether it's through apps, games, or social media platforms. Ensure it's age-appropriate and safe.
