Campus Message

Dear Celina Early Childhood Parents,

One full week has gone by and we are so proud of the way your children have adapted to the new routines! We are enjoying getting to know their personalities and interests with every day!

Our goal is to make sure your child gets home daily in the way you select. We ask that you choose either bus or car line and stick to it. We know rare situations come up, but we ask for you to be consistent to reduce confusion.

Please use the Transportation link for ALL changes. Do not send to the teachers, for they are busy with the children. The link will always be at the bottom of my newsletters and on the website. This link will turn off daily at 1:30PM, the deadline to submit changes.

Arrival is getting quicker as your children are becoming independent on walking themselves to their classroom! We ask that you STAY IN your car and come through the car line.. When you park and walk across the traffic, you are slowing down all arrivals and increasing potential harm.

DO NOT PHOTO LIST :

In your Skyward registration, you may have selected to not give permission to have your child photographed. This will include photos from your child's teacher, yearbook, social media, on wall hangings inside the building, etc. If you selected this option, you will receive an email from rachelhansen@celinaisd.com to change your mind to allow photos to be taken. If you are not sure, email her and let her know you give permission to have your child's photo taken.

Attendance Policy

Did you know once your child starts public school they fall under the Texas attendance law?

As a reminder, fever of a 100.4 or higher, diarrhea or vomiting will need to stay home. If it is a cough or tired, send your children to school. Immune systems will build throughout the year!

Here is the link to Celina ISD's attendance policy to prevent a truant situation.

2- NO school for Labor Day observance

4- College Awareness Day - wear your favorite college colors or spiritwear

12- Back to School Neon Glow Dance - bring the family, wear white/neon/bright colors and dance with your new friends as you "Glow" together!

13- International DOT Day- Wear clothes with DOTS

Welcome Bobcat Families!

Happy Friday Bobcat Families! I hope everyone has had a great week. Our little explorers are learning classroom routines and procedures and I am amazed at how far they have progressed in 7 days! We have less and less tears everyday and lots of happy faces.

Next week I will continue with visiting classrooms and my story is, Don’t Worry Little Crab. When faced with jumping into the ocean for the first time, the little crab finally jumps and discovers the beautiful wonders beneath the surface. Our preK students face lots of firsts all year long. Let us continue to encourage and praise them when they are brave and try new things.

I also would like to thank those who watched my “Preparing for PREK” video in the summer. If you missed it, or have forgotten, an extremely important and helpful task mentioned in the video is to LABEL everything. Please keep a black Sharpie marker in your home and label new school items. This includes: water bottle, backpack, lunchbox, lunch containers, clothes, and blankets. We appreciate your help with this. Enjoy these great read alouds about bravery and stay cool this weekend!

School Cafe Lunch account setup - Be ready for lunch on the first day!

Create a SchoolCafe Account: As we prepare for the new school year, please ensure that you complete the Free & Reduced Meal Application through School Cafe to allow eligible students to access free or reduced meals starting on the first day of school. All menus will be available online via School Cafe. Since it may take a few days for new students' information to transfer from Skyward to School Cafe, please either send money with your child or provide lunch during their initial days. Additionally, remember to add funds to your returning student's School Cafe account before the school year begins. This can be completed using this link: https://www.schoolcafe.com/CELINAISD.

TRANSPORTATION

You must register by August 6th to get bus transportation for the first week of school. Call (469) 742-9114
After this date, allow 2 weeks to get a bus number and routing information.

Lunch Visitors

Lunch visitors may begin coming on Monday, October 1st. We ask that you please follow these rules when visiting:

Check-in at the front office and obtain a visitor sticker.
Please sit at the designated visitor tables.
You may only share and provide food for your child.
Only your child may sit with you.
Lunch visitors may not walk students to class, go inside classrooms, student restrooms, or other areas in the building.
Taking pictures or video of students is prohibited. 📵

Note From Nurse Moore

Potty Training

Please email updated immunization to nurse carriemoore@celinaisd.com.

All medically and developmentally able students are expected to handle their own toileting (knowing when they need to use the restroom, asking or stating that need, handle clothing removal/replacement, and change clothes if needed) and cleaning (wiping properly, washing hands) on their own or with verbal cues alone.
Please send your student to school in clothes that are easy for them to pull up/down or take on/off for unaided or minimally aided restroom use.
Those students that require a change of clothing related to toileting accidents, spills, and/or food mishaps will wait in the classroom to minimize loss of instructional time unless deemed necessary to move the student to an alternative location for the student’s comfort.
Provide 3 sets of clothing: 2 sets (include 2 pairs of underwear, and any combination of the following: shirts, pants, dresses, skirts, or shorts and socks) Please place these in a zip lock storage bag with the student’s name, class, and teacher’s name on the bag. This will be left at school. The 3rd set of clothing should remain in your student’s backpack.
It is highly recommended that extra shoes be provided as well.
You, as the parent or legal guardian, may be asked to come and assist with changing your student if necessary.
