School Highlights
Navajo Preparatory School in Farmington, New Mexico
Navajo Preparatory School students recently participated in the State of New Mexico's legislative session. Navajo Preparatory works to instill a strong sense of self-identity, cultural foundation and global awareness in its students. Through this holistic approach to education, students are prepared with the tools and knowledge they need to become leaders within their communities and on a regional, national, and international scale.
Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Oklahoma
In January, Riverside Indian School's cross-country team was honored for its achievements. Senior Kateri was named one of the top 10 seniors and an all-state participant and received a letterman jacket. Tice placed sixth at state and earned an all-state patch. Timothy placed seventh at state and received a letterman jacket.
Riverside also named its 2025 valedictorian, Mylene, and salutatorian, Sharain, for their outstanding academic achievement.
Flandreau Indian School in Flandreau, South Dakota
Flandreau Indian School students go above and beyond! This student was recognized for assisting another student in need. In appreciation for demonstrating good behavior aligning with the medicine wheel teachings of courage, fidelity, fortitude and generosity learned in life skills/transition classes, she was gifted with a clam shell, holder, bundle of sage and beaded lanyard.
Wingate High School in Ft. Wingate, New Mexico
The English Language Arts and Virtual Learning Labs students in ninth and tenth grade from Dr. Thompson’s classes created nine gingerbread houses and submitted them on December 10, 2024, to the Rio West Mall Management Office. The houses received votes from visitors to the Rio West Mall throughout the weekend. After the votes were tallied, one ninth-grade student from Wingate High School placed third and won $25. McLane created the gingerbread house that won and named his creation “Farm House with Zoo Animals.”
