TMHS Core Values and Expectations
PBIS Program
Here at Trotwood-Madison High School, our students aspire every day to meet our RAMS Expectations:
- Respectful
- Accountable
- Motivated
- Self-Controlled
Our building PBIS program (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) is designed to promote those positive qualities in our students. Teachers acknowledge students' positive behaviors by awarding PBIS Rewards points, which in turn help students earn a variety of incentives from snacks, to in school assemblies and activities, to field trips. A progressive discipline system is also in place to address the instances when student behavior does not meet our RAMS Expectations.
Here are some examples of our RAMS Expectations in action:
- Respectful - Positive interactions with both staff and other students
- Accountable - Attending all classes, arriving on time, and being prepared every day
- Motivated - Staying engaged in class activities and putting forth consistent effort
- Self-Controlled - Responding in a calm, positive manner in emotional situations

TMHS Homecoming Dance
The TMHS Homecoming Dance is a month away (10/12/24) and all the details and ticket purchase information will be provided to students soon. With that in mind, there are two potential restrictions that we would like all TMHS families to be aware of:
- Discipline Issues - Students with excessive discipline issues will not be permitted to attend. Specific details will be provided to students and families before tickets to on sale.
- Tardiness to School - Students who are tardy to school more than 11 times will not be permitted to attend.
We recognize that some students are not responsible for their tardiness, so we want to make sure we are informing all TMHS families that dropping your student off late to school could prevent them from being able to attend the TMHS Homecoming Dance.

Meet the PBIS Team!
PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is a system designed to promote positive behaviors, reduce negative behaviors, and build positive relationships between students, families, and staff members. This is accomplished by setting clear expectations, explicitly teaching those expectations, and implementing a consistent system for acknowledging and correcting behaviors. Further details can be found at the Ohio PBIS website and the Center on PBIS.
The TMHS PBIS Team is led by Mrs. Estefany Morneault, TMHS Science Teacher, and supported by Mr. Mickey as a TMHS building administrator and Mrs. Cecily Bursey as a district Student Services Coordinator. The PBIS team also includes the following TMHS teachers and staff (Sincere apologies from Mr. Mickey if anyone is left off the list!):
- Mrs. Brock - Counselor
- Mrs. Parrish - Counselor
- Mrs. Jones - Counselor
- Mr. Reichel - Math Teacher
- Mrs. Linger - Math Teacher
- Mrs. Fishbein - ELA Teacher
- Mrs. Knight - ELA Teacher
- Mr. Parker - Science Teacher
- Mrs. Bennett - Clerical Support
- Mrs. Traylor - Instructional Coach
- Mrs. Marinucci - Mental Health Therapist
This team will be responsible for collecting and analyzing TMHS behavior/referral data, creating targeted solutions to address behavior trend data, reinforcing positive behavior expectations through consistent reteaching, planning quarterly and yearly rewards for students, planning incentives for staff, monitoring the use of PBIS Rewards points, and much more! Our team is dedicated to creating a positive, inviting, and supportive school culture for all of the students, staff, and families of TMHS.
Here are some examples of upcoming PBIS rewards for students:
- 1st Quarter Reward - Halloween party and sweet treats for all students who had no referrals for 1st quarter
- 2nd - 4th Quarter Rewards - TBD by the PBIS team!
- Year-End Kings Island Trip - This is the ultimate reward for all TMHS students who have demonstrated positive behaviors, excellent attendance, and good grades throughout the entire school year. Last year's requirements were NO referrals for the year, 92% or higher attendance for the year, and a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA (Requirements for this year will be very similar)
Hopefully, you have gained a deeper understanding of the TMHS PBIS program and the excellent team responsible for implementing it. If you have any further questions, please contact Mr. Mickey by email at jamesmickey@trotwood.k12.oh.us or by phone at (937) 854-0878 x2025.
