We are starting the countdown to the first day of school! Summer construction and improvements inside the building are winding down and teachers are trickling in to prepare their classrooms for your children. This summer we were fortunate to have ALL classrooms repainted and carpeted for a fresh start to the school year. Please look carefully through this newsletter as new information has been added.
REGISTRATION IS OPEN!!
It is time to register your returning student(s) for the 2024-2025 school year. Similar to last year, this year’s registration will be online. Please note that families returning to ASD no longer need to provide documents for Proof of Residency.
POWERSCHOOL FORMS & CONTACT INFORMATION
There are two ways to fill out returning student forms. You can use a web browser on your computer or you can use the PowerSchool App on your phone or tablet. Using the app will work best for parents who have minor changes for the 2024-25 school year. We strongly recommend uploading any required documents. If for some reason you are unable to do so, you can bring your documents to the secure lock box hanging at the entrance to the Elementary School. Please mark the docs attention to Carrie Milton at AES.
To register using a personal computer please follow these directions.
To register using the online app follow these directions.
Make sure you fill out the forms for each student by clicking on their individual name tabs. Your registration is not complete until the online forms have been reviewed and accepted.
We ask that you use this opportunity to carefully review all of your personal information and make sure it is correct and up to date. This will ensure you are receiving all pertinent information for your student(s) via email, phone or text and we can reach you in the event of an emergency. Be sure to fill in 2 emergency contacts that are not parents!
If you have any questions or need help with anything please feel free to reach out.

2024/25 FEES:
All students will be assessed an $85 supply fee and a $25 technology fee on August 15th. The Supply Fee covers all the supplies your child will need for the year. You do not need to shop for any supplies to bring to the first day of school. Your child will only need their own backpack, lunchbox and water bottle. The technology fee covers your child’s device and licenses for the year. We are asking that all current and outstanding fees be paid before school begins on August 21st. These can be paid through e~Funds. Here a few helpful hints to set up a new e~Funds account if you don’t have one already:
You will need your child's lunch/student ID number to make a payment. Please email Virginia or Carrie if you need help finding the ID number.
Click here for step by step instructions to set up an account.
Convenience fees are $2.65 per $100 for a credit card payment and $1 for eCheck/direct debit.
You do not need to enter a “family number”.
Click here for the e~Funds payment site or you can find the link on our website by clicking the header School Information, then Parents, then you click on Online Payments. Or click the $ sign on the right hand side of the homepage.
You can still make payments in the main office with cash or check, but setting up an account and paying in advance will save time and give you an opportunity to see a breakdown of your fees in advance.
FREE & REDUCED LUNCH
We know that many families rely on schools for meals. We encourage families to submit a Free & Reduced Meal application, which provides families with access to additional benefits as well. Please know that even if you qualified in previous years, an application must be submitted every school year. To access the application and instructions click HERE. If you have any questions or problems, or if you need a paper form please reach out to Virginia.
EARLY RELEASE WEDNESDAYS
This year, every Wednesday at AES is an early release Wednesday. Students are released for the day at 1:45. Please mark your calendars and prepare accordingly.
Withdrawal from AES
If your student is not returning to AES this year, please complete this Withdrawal Form. Carrie Milton, our registrar, can be reached at 970-925-3760 ext. 3001 if you have any questions regarding the withdrawal of your student.
HOMESCHOOLING
If homeschooling is your chosen method, the district must receive a letter of notification 14 days before beginning the home school program. The written notification must include the name, age, place of residence, and number of attendance hours for each child that will be participating in the home school program. Written notification must be re-submitted to a Colorado school district each year. Please review the ASD Home School Registration requirements and submit an updated Letter of Intent to HomeSchool for the 2024-25 school year if applicable. Please send the letter to Alice Black and reach out to her with any questions at ablack@aspenk12.net.
Click HERE for more information regarding homeschool requirements.
Parking for Parents, Volunteers, Visitors etc.
Please check in with the front office of the building you are visiting. You will receive a badge and a temporary parking pass. Please make sure your pass is clearly visible on the dashboard of your vehicle. If you do not have a parking pass, your vehicle may get a ticket or be booted.
Parking is available in the middle school lot. The parking lot located behind the high school is for staff only.
