October 5th: 9th-11th grade families, if you are new to AOC or want a refresher on what classes students take at AOC and how their Education Plan comes together, join us for an AOC Education Plan and Wellness Information Session. October 7th: Drexel University Visit In-person and UCSB is having a Virtual Visit, students can get more information via Google Classroom.

October 15th: PSAT at AOC for 11th grade students who registered.

October 18th: 12th grade families, please save the date for a 12th Grade AOC Financial Aid Night (In-Person). This event will be presented by the COC Financial Aid office.

College Application Labs: Seniors wanting a place to work on college applications or have them checked for submission can join, Ms. Grijalva in the AOC Computer Lab on the following days afterschool: October 11,12,18,19,25, and 26 (3-4pm)

This month, we are focusing on anti bullying. On our bulletin board, we have written the following message:

I Pledge to Unite our Voices – to be heard clearly and calmly, So that our peaceful actions can be seen and echoed..

Oct. 5-10th : Rainbow wristbands with "Born this way" for students to wear.
Having students Pledge Against Bullying by writing their names on the I am a voice poster.

Oct. 12: Let's make a new friend Campaign, themed to all grade levels together so they can make friends: working with a student to do lunch time themed outside activities.

Oct 19: Working with the ReThink Chapter for anti bullying-

Unity Day-Wear Orange, take a stand against Bullying, Passing out bracelets

Hi Acorns! Are you interested in helping others and being part of the solution for bullying? Then, the ReThink Chapter meeting every other Monday at the Wellness Room is the perfect club for you. This is an opportunity FOR YOU to become a founding member of the chapter, lead movements throughout our district, and be part of a worldwide community of students. YOU are the solution, to unite our community and stand up for what is right. Join us next club meeting on October 10th in the Wellness Room at lunch.

College of the Canyons Homecoming is Coming!

COC Homecoming Tailgate Event Information:

To kick off the game, College of the Canyons will be hosting a Homecoming Tailgate Event before the game from 5-7pm in the Cougar Stadium.

Games, fun, activities, music, and food will be provided!

Located on the campus of College of the Canyons, AOC is proud to be the middle college high school in the William S. Hart Union High School District serving students 9th-12th grades in the Santa Clarita Valley. Students have the opportunity to earn between 24 and 44 transferable college units, prior to receiving their high school diplomas. Upon graduation, the majority of Academy students pursue their post high school education by continuing at COC and completing their college transfer requirements in only one year after high school. Other AOC students go directly into a four-year university, bringing their community college units with them and placing themselves well into their freshman and sophomore years at the college level. While attending AOC as a high school student, community college tuition is waived for established California residents.
