As always with events, please follow the guidelines below:

• Please park in a parking spot in our main lots, or in the neighborhood legally
• We expect there to be limited parking at Cherry Crest; carpooling is always a great idea!
• Do not block driveways and please make sure emergency vehicles can get through side streets (Parking on both sides of the street does not allow for this)
• Please do not block other cars in our parking lot
• At times, you may need to park further away in order to walk to our events; be mindful of our neighbors and please be kind and safe. Thank you!

We know many teachers and PTSA have shared that Picture Day is happening on September 26th. Due to a scheduling conflict with the vendor, Picture Day will now be on September 24th. Please make note of this on your calendar. Thank you!

Best Practices:

1. Every student should have dismissal plan in their backpack: including:

Student Name

Teacher Name

Parent Phone number

(if bus rider): Bus number and bus stop description

Let your child know it will be in backpack and teachers can check if unsure.

Update the dismissal plan as needed.

2. Every student should have a set of clean clothes in backpack, shirt, shorts/pants, socks

3. Anything valuable, such as a jacket, lunch box, for example, should be labeled with student name.

For open enrolled students:

• Use the link below to apply to be on a waitlist for transportation

• The link leads to a form that must be completely filled out

• The completed form will also serve as a place holder. The earlier a form is completed, the better chance of an assignment

Mykela Fantone is available to students and families every day of the week. You can reach her using the contact information below. In the future, Ms. Mykela will share family resources. In the meantime, please visit her website below for resources, support, and other information about her counseling program. We see Ms. Mykela as another important and safe adult for our students at Cherry Crest. It is not uncommon for students to meet with her throughout the year. Thanks to Ms. Mykela for all she does.

Students may begin arriving on campus at 7:40. K-2 students line-up in our cafeteria, while 3rd-5th graders line-up in the undercover area on the playground. Both areas will have supervision beginning at 7:40 AM. Students will be dismissed into the building starting at 7:55 AM. All students arriving after 8:00 AM will be considered tardy and must sign-in through the front office.

If you are dropping off your child by vehicle, please review the map attached below for instructions. For both drop-off and dismissal times, we request families follow the traffic flow indicated in the map.

If you are parking your vehicle to drop off your child, there is guest parking available, also indicated in the map.

With limited space and a narrow way in/out of our building, please keep in mind morning drop-off wait times are often longer than expected. Please plan ahead by planning to arrive at Cherry Crest by 7:45 AM to avoid the possibility of your child being tardy due to being stuck in traffic.

SAVE THE DATE for our first PTSA event of the year! Bring the whole family for some fun and games on October 4th from 4-6:30 PM. More information will come home soon, including details about fundraising goals, prizes, and ticket information.
