Week in Review
It was a beautiful week on campus between the storms. Our beautiful greenery definitely got to gulp up a ton of water. We installed the first part of our sustainable organic garden this week, a 100 gallon rain barrel. Tuesday's storm filled it to the brim with the runoff from the roof! We're hoping to get three or four more barrels to be able to sustain a garden year-round.
Monday was a VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts) Day! The students had so much fun participating in dance, drawing, acting, and music lessons throughout the day. This allowed our staff teams to collaborate on best practices for reading and project-based learning.
In School Site Council this week, we reviewed the results from our budget priorities survey. You can take a look at the presentation by clicking here: 1/11/23 SSC - Budget Priorities Survey Results. The next steps in the process involve the District releasing the 2023-24 site budget to Principal Friedenberg, who will then allocate funds to match the priorities shared by families and staff. This is then presented to School Site Council on February 22nd for approval.
Last night, our PTA meeting had our biggest turnout yet! Check out the article below to learn all about everything we accomplished.
As a reminder, Monday is a school holiday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday. We encourage all families to engage in an act of service to their community in the spirit of civic engagement to commemorate this special day. Check out the "Resources for Parents" link at the bottom of the newsletter.
Life's most persistent

PTA is Growing!
We had phenomenal turnout at last night's PTA meeting. Our membership is up to 27 now, with eighteen in attendance last night. The team approved the budget for this year and reviewed the success of our first fundraiser, the candy-grams, which made a 200% net profit!
The team also discussed and approved not one, but TWO incredible events coming soon! Mark your calendars for February 10th from 6-8PM where we'll host a family fun Valentine's Dance in the auditorium. Admission will be FREE for students and their families. Concessions will be available for purchase. If you're interested in volunteering in the production of this event, please email Ashleigh Ledoux at: ashleigh.ledoux@gmail.com.
But wait, there's more! Mark you calendars again. Saturday, April 22nd as the Fletcher Community Spring Carnival returns to the park from 11AM - 3PM. Email Ashleigh Ledoux at: ashleigh.ledoux@gmail.com if you want to be part of the fun!
Last, but not least, our PTA approved the purchase of brand new school spirit T-Shirts for every student and staff member! A suggested donation of $10 per shirt will help offset the costs, but is not required. Check out the sample below.
Our next meeting will be on February 16th from 5:30-6:30PM. An online option will be available in an effort to increase participation. Stay tuned for more details as the date gets approaches.
Our Student of the Week is Alex in Mrs. Sperry's 4th/5th Grade Class. Alex is a very sweet and gentle soul who is very respectful. Alex not only comes to school ready to learn and demonstrates honesty and trust with teachers and students, but when classwork gets tough she powers through showing her strength and resilience.. Way to go, Alex! Thank you for being a phenomenal Falcon!
