A Message From Ms. Cannon
Happy Friday!
WOW- we have already reached the last newsletter of the 2024-2025 school year! It feels like just yesterday I was writing the first newsletter as the brand new principal at Bogan. We have accomplished so many great things this year and I am so proud of our students and staff.
We had our first ever Breakfast with a Veteran event this week. We had over 80 families in attendance!! Thank you Mr. Leadbetter, Mrs. Lindley, and Mrs. Mullins for planning this event and coming to school early to flip pancakes!
5th grade performed Shrek the Musical JR- complete with costumes, makeup, and props. We have really talented 5th graders who might have a Broadway career in their futures! I want to thank Mr. Snyder and the 5th grade team for all of their hard work to make this musical happen!
I will be working throughout the summer. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out. Email is the quickest way, but you can also call our office and leave a voicemail.
Class lists will be released in Final Forms in early August. We will also share staffing and event updates on our Facebook page.
Have a great summer!
Sincerely,
Kirsten Cannon, Principal

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Recently, grade levels have been earning less stars throughout the week. We were on a two week streak of every grade level earning a star every day, so we know our students are capable!
We have been reviewing the cafeteria expectations every day on the announcements and in the cafeteria. It would be really helpful if you could please also review these expectations at home.

Lunch Accounts
As a reminder, you are able to add funds to your student's lunch account through the Talawanda EZ Pay system. If your student's account reaches -$50 it will be rolled into your school fees. Please be mindful and keep your student's account current. You can use Talawanda EZ Pay, send a check or cash to the school office to take care of your student's balance.

Counselor's Corner: Updated May 2nd
Hello parents and guardians!
Can you believe it’s May and that the end of the school year is in sight?! There’s been a lot of growth this year among students in every class and it’s been such a joy to have kids come up to me and share with me that they have been using the skills they’ve learned this year in our Second Step lessons to solve problems and to be kind to others.
As the school year wraps, we know that many students will feel the change in going from having a structured school day and being surrounded by their friends to not knowing what to do with all of that free time. Sometimes those big feelings show up as behavior and it’s important to do a check-in with your child and ask them how they are feeling and what could be causing their behavior. We have talked a lot about emotions and feelings this year to be able to put into words what we are feeling, so don’t be afraid to ask the hard questions!
If you feel your student could use continued support over the summer, there are resources you could utilize. This link will take you to mental health providers in the Oxford area should you feel your student needs someone to talk to over the summer.

We will miss our 5th grade students next year as they move on to the middle school, but I am confident that they have all learned skills that will ensure they are successful, both in and out of the classroom. I look forward to seeing all of our other students back in the fall and I wish you all a happy and restful summer!

Volunteers Needed!
We are also asking for some donations if you can't volunteer, maybe that is something you could consider helping out with!
Larosa's Oxford is graciously donating the Pizza and we will have The Studio Spin Art there for $10 a spin (the only paid item of the event--everything else is FREE!)
Please consider helping us make this another fantastic event to help kick-off the summer! We truly appreciate the continued support and look forward to a relaxing summer and many more kid-focused events next school year!
