Eagles' Extra

Highlights of the Week
Welcome back, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break. It has been great to see the school buzzing with activity again and hear stories about the students' holidays.
On Wednesday, our students had the opportunity to go curling. Curling is a great activity for students to learn as it can be a sport that can be enjoyed by all ages. Thank you to the Donalda Curling Club for giving us the opportunity to play, and thank you to Mary Mueller for providing instruction for all our students and
Our basketball teams were back in action this week with their first CARA games against Wm. E. Hay. Both teams battled hard, and I was incredibly impressed by their teamwork, playmaking, and sportsmanship on the court. In addition, the boys' team participated in a tournament in Stettler over the weekend and finished 3rd — Way to go, Eagles!
On another note, we want to give an update about Mrs. Norman. It was confirmed this week that she will be away for the next six weeks. During this time, Mrs. Normand will be in the office to assist with any needs.
The weather is making life intersting these days. If we continue to see melting temperatures, I would recommed sending extra mittens, socks and pants to keep in your child's lockers as many are coming in after recess quite wet.
Ski Day - Friday, January 31st
We are asking that all students that are planning to go on the trip to have their forms filled out and handed in by Wednesday, January 15th. I have attached a copy of the form below. For payment, you can have two options:
- Online via SchoolCash (Note: increased food prices to cover credit card user fee)
- Cash or cheque at the office (please make cheques out to Donalda School)
We are also in need of parent volunteers, so we welcome all parents to join us!

Student of the Week
Tova Robinson
Tova has been working so hard in all areas! She's always working hard to achieve academic excellence. She did an excellent job in the lead role of our Christmas concert; she was a fantastic coach for the Mini-Spikers tournament; and she has been helpful to her peers espcially by sharing her study guides to review for test and quizzes. Tova is a great addition to ouf class and I look forward to seeing what she acheives in the rest of the year!
Grace Bergstrom
Grace is such a hard worker. An excellent example of this was during our Christmasns party. Partway through the afternoon, she looked around at the mess in our classroom and she quietly started clearning up the class, including organizing toys that others were not playing with, returning parts and pieces to cases, and wiping up spills. Thank you for all your help, Grace!
Kaden Erickson
Kaden has been working hard in all of his classes this year and it has resulted in him achieving academic success! He's a positive member of our classroom as he is always calm and caring towards his peers. Kaden was also extremely helpful in taking on the role of playing music for our Christmas concert which he did an excellent job! Keep up the great work, Kaden!
Rhya Norman
Rhya is kind and compassionate to her peers and a good friend. An excellent example of this was during our Christmas party, when a classmate opened a gift that she felt wouldn't be allowed at her home. Rhya quickly offered to swap, and then generously allowed everyone to play with the gift she received as well. Keep being kind and compassionate Rhya!
