🐾 Spotlight Update: From Temecula Track Star to Future Georgia Bulldog
Chaparral’s Track Phenom Keelan Wright Takes the Next Big Step
Chaparral High School’s Keelan Wright continues to impress with her track and field prowess. Back in April, we shared Keelan’s remarkable achievements, and since then, she has only solidified her status as a standout athlete. Holding the #1 spots in California for the 60m, 100m, and 200m, as well as national rankings of #1 in the 60m, #7 in the 100m, and #11 in the 200m, Keelan has now committed to the University of Georgia. This milestone marks an exciting new chapter, and Temecula stands behind her as she prepares to excel in collegiate competition as a Georgia Bulldog.
🌟 Aspiring TVUSD High School Dance Students Visit Cal State Fullerton
Students from Temecula Valley High School (TVHS) Dance, along with their peers from Chaparral High School (CHS) and Great Oak High School (GOHS), recently embarked on an exciting field trip to Cal State Fullerton (CSUF). The day was packed with enriching experiences, starting with a private guided tour of the campus, giving students a glimpse into college life.
The highlight of the visit was a special Q&A session with Professor Alvin Rangel-Alvarado, Chair of the CSUF Dance Department, who shared insights about the program and answered students' questions about pursuing a future in dance. Following the Q&A, the students had the unique opportunity to participate in a master class led by Professor Rangel-Alvarado himself, where they learned new techniques and explored different styles of movement.
The day also included time to connect with members of the CSUF dance team, who offered their perspectives on balancing academics and dance at the collegiate level. TVHS students were thrilled to reunite with Jade Coombs, a TVHS alum and current CSUF student, who shared her experiences transitioning from high school to university life.
This memorable trip was organized and led by the high school dance teachers from each school: Alyssa Salas (CHS), Anastasia (Annie), Lewis (TVHS), and Caitlyn Santiago (GOHS). It was an inspiring and informative experience for all the students involved, offering a firsthand look at what the future could hold for these aspiring dancers.
