A Note from Mrs. Zellner and Mrs. Gray
Dear Maple Dale families,
We are soaring with gratitude for your incredible support in helping our school raise an astounding $60,000! Your generous contributions have truly lifted us to new heights, and this funding will directly benefit our students and staff, enhancing their educational journey.
We couldn't have reached this altitude without your efforts. To celebrate this accomplishment, we're thrilled to hold our Outside Movie Day on Friday, October 11, where our students can relax and enjoy an in-flight entertainment experience! Then, get ready to take off at our exciting Fun Run on Wednesday, October 16—let's run the runway together!
Thank you again for helping our school fly higher and further. We look forward to celebrating these events with our amazing students!
Cleared for takeoff! Have a great weekend and go Aves!

4th Grade Hurricane Relief Drive
The 4th grade Essential Question in Module 1 of Wit & Wisdom is, What does it mean to have a great heart figuratively and literally?
We're learning about the Circulatory System, and have studied biographies of people who have used their leadership to help others in need.
The students would like to show their great hearts and collect donations for the victims of Hurricane Helene.

All PRO Dad
What is All Pro Dad? All Pro Dad is the fatherhood program of Family First, a national nonprofit organization based in Tampa, Florida. It was founded by Mark Merrill and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy. The organization seeks to help every father become more engaged in the lives of their children. The goal is to enjoy breakfast with the dads and their children while encouraging conversations about important life topics. Please join other dads and parents at our Maple Dale chapter for a fun time of relationship building. There will be four chapter breakfast meetings this school year: 10/9, 1/16, 3/13, and 5/8.
Maple Dale students are invited to the Maple Dale Elementary All Pro Dad's breakfast on Wednesday October 9th from 8am – 9am. This is a free breakfast (donuts, coffee, and juice this month) is sponsored by the Maple Dale PTO. Please park at the District Office parking lot.

The October theme is DILIGENCE. If you have diligence, you work hard and with intentionality to complete a task or achieve a goal. While diligence requires sacrifice, it also results in satisfaction and success.

Reporting Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying Incidence
In an ongoing effort to provide a safe learning environment, Sycamore is requesting parents, students, and staff inform administration of any perceived incidents of harassment, intimidation, or bullying.
Per the Sycamore Board of Education policy JFCF, harassment, intimidation, and bullying are defined as any provoked and intentional written, verbal, electronic or physical act that a student has exhibited toward another student more than once and the behavior both:
1. causes mental or physical harm to the other student; and
2. is severe, persistent, or pervasive to extent that it creates an intimidating, threatening, or abusive educational environment for the other student.
To view the complete policy, visit www.sycamore schools.org, choose “About Us” then “Board Policies” and from there search for policies “JFCF” and “JFCG-R.”
Sycamore will do everything possible to address any complaints of harassment, intimidation, and bullying. We encourage students, staff, parents, and community members to report this type of behavior to the district.
To report an incident of harassment, intimidation, and bullying:
1. Go to the district’s website, www.sycamore schools.org or the individual school’s website and choose “Families” then “Report a Concern,” and “Report Bullying” to find the form.
2. Complete the Report Bullying form and submit it electronically. Hard copies of this form are also available in each of the schools. Completed hard copies are submitted to the building principal.
The building principal or designee will promptly investigate all reported incidents.
It is difficult to investigate reported incidences that are anonymously submitted. However, every effort will be made to maintain the confidentiality of the reporter. Deliberate false reporting of harassment, intimidation, and bullying is prohibited.
